So far, Abby is about 14 weeks along in her pregnancy. At this point, she feels she might get lucky and find out the baby's gender so she and Courtlen headed down to the hospital. Abby laid on the hospital bed as the doctor prepped her up for her ultrasound and Courtlen sat next to her. The doctor put the gel on her bare stomach, "are you ready, guys?" he asked. The two teens both nodded. The doctor began rubbing the transducers on Abby's stomache, looking for a heartbeat. Finally, it happened.

"Well, there it is. Your little bundle of joy," the doctor said. Abby was at a loss for words when she saw her kid on the screen. Courtlen, on the other hand, felt chills down his spine. "Oh shit.." he muttered to himself. Abby was amazed, "That's really inside my stomache.. growing.. oh my God! Doc, is it a boy or a girl?"

"Hm.. you're a bit early in the process of finding out but by the looks of it so far, I think it's a girl."

"Yay! You hear that, Courtlen?!" Courtlen was in a daze, staring at the screen. Soon, he snapped out of it from Abby's yelling, "Huh?"

"We're having a girl!"

"For real?"

"The doctor just said he thinks it's a girl so far but he can't tell completely because it's still early in the pregnancy and stuff.. but isn't that great?!" Courtlen smiled and nodded but on the inside, he was scared.

"That's really our seed growing inside of her.. I'm not ready for all that. Shit, we're still kids ourselves, this ain't suppose to happen.. it shouldn't happen," Courtlen thought.

Leaving the hospital, the two teenagers had different demeanors. Abby had a big smile on her face, happily walking through the parking lot to the car. Courtlen had a mean mug with his hands in his pockets, slumping behind Abby. They soon pulled out of the parking lot, off to take Abby home. She basically spoke the whole ride. "I think I'm gonna tell my parents now. I think my mom realized I'm not fat, my stomache is just round and suspicious. Maybe she'll be excited about a little grandbaby, or yell at me.. I hope she lets me stay. What if I get kicked out? Maybe we can find our own place and-"

"ABBY! STOP." Courtlen interrupted.

"What?"

"You talk too damn much! Do you even hear yourself right now?"

"Yea. What's the problem?"

"You are a junior in highschool and I'm a senior. We here, having to reevaluate our lives because you're having my kid. That's not the type of shit teenagers should be doing."

"Well we do because it's already happening. What else do you want me to do? Abort?" The car grew silent. "Well?!"

"Abby.. we're just kids-"

"You must be out of your damn mind! I'm not killing anything for you! You can walk out but you're just gonna look like a bitch ass nigga. I really believed that you were gonna change and do what was right but-"

"This is right! Do you really think it's okay to be in highschool, raising your own kid?! Get your head out the clouds, girl."

"Whatever.. walk out, I don't care."

"I'm just trying to help YOU out but fine." The rest of the ride home was silent. When they got there, Abby got out the car without saying anything and ran inside. The first she did was go to her room and tried to make a decision; listen to Courtlen or do things on her own.

When Courtlen went back to his own home, he walked in angrily and slammed the front door, catching his dad off guard. "Don't be slamming doors in my house," Jordan groaned, watching tv. Courtlen ignored him and stomped his way to the kitchen. "Damn, stop making all that noise! Shit," Jordan loudly complained. "Just leave me be, damn dawg!" Courtlen yelled back. In an instant, Jordan got off the couch and went after Courtlen. "Who.. the hell.. are you yelling at?" Jordan asked. "I'm just mad, you yelling ain't making anything better so just leave me alone." Courtlen sat down at the table, put his headphones in and put his head down. "Well sheesh, what's your problem?"

"Baby mama problems," he said, muttering through his arms. "EXCUSE ME? Pick your big ass head up off that table and look at me!" Jordan barked. Courtlen picked up his head and looked at his dad.

"Why the hell are you caught up in drama like that? I knew you could be dumb but not that dumb!"

"Well, I told her to abort that shit because I ain't ready for that and I ain't tryna fuck up our futures but she don't want to!"

"Nobody's aborting anything! Step up and take responsibility for your damn actions! You don't want it, too bad."

"But it's gonna ruin everything for-"

"Should've thought of that before sticking your dick into some fast ass girl."

"It was Abby.." Jordan's jaw dropped; he leaned against the counter and dropped his face into his hands. "Oh Lord.. what am I gonna do with you, boy?"

"She didn't say no and I didn't expect it to happen like this. It never does."

"Courtlen.. did you even bother to think about it in a long run? What would Loni say? Your parents? Anyone? You gotta think before your actions and take responsibility for them. Telling the poor girl to abort just makes you look too weak to take life into your own hands.. I really expect more outta you, like I barely know who you are anymore." Jordan started to grow tired himself. "Ima go lie down on the couch.." He slumped out of the kitchen and back to the living, leaving Courtlen to try to make the right choice.
