Aaron and the Bell

"WHERE IS IT?!" You shout. You start panicking when you hear a familiar voice.
"It's okay. I have it." You hear Aaron say. You turn around to face Aaron, holding the bell tightly in his hand.
"Why did you take it?" Laurance asked.
"Figured you guys might need it. Nothing else." Aaron says. You nod and take the bell.
"Keep it in your bag." Laurance says. You put it in the bag where all of your important things are. The three of you start heading back to Phoenix Drop. Soon, it started to get late. You and Laurance sat on top of a tree and watched the sunset fade into the twilight when it got late. Aaron sat down and prepared the fire.
"You guys coming?" Aaron asked.
"Yeah, we're coming." Laurance gets off of the tree, and helps you get down, even though you don't need help.
"Thanks, Laurance." You say and peck him on the cheek. At night, while Laurance is snoozing beside you, you start waking up. You don't want to sleep in again because of the events that occurred last time. You realize Aaron is gone and immediately begin looking around, but still watching Laurance. The smoke of the burnt-out fire was a great landmark for finding a way back to Laurance. You find Aaron sitting on a big rock and hide behind a tree. You hear him singing (this is from the song Fireflies by Owl City):

That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say I never stay awake when I'm asleep

You stop listening, thinking that maybe you weren't supposed to hear him sing that. Such a tough guy like Aaron, sounding so soft and weak? It made no sense. Aaron got up and pulled out a Phoenix Feather from his pocket.
"Lilly almost made it to the Heavens... she just needed a purple bell and a Phoenix Feather..." He said, choking behind tears. You frown. Lilly, Aaron's dead wife. You couldn't imagine how much it hurt to lose the person you love most.
"It's okay, Aaron." You say louder than you wanted to.
"WHO'S THERE?!" Aaron shouts, bringing out his sword. You walk out of the bushes with a smile on your face.
"It hurts when you lose the person you love most. I can't imagine a life without Laurance." You say. Aaron looks at you coldly.
"You heard everything, didn't you (your name)?"
"I did. And I'm glad I did. We need a Phoenix Feather. To make it to the Heavens."
"No. I don't give things away like that."
"Let me finish doing what Lilly started." You say. Aaron gives you the feather. He tries to smile and then walks off. You head back towards Laurance.
"Laurance."
"Yeah, (your name)."
"I have something."
"A handsome boyfriend? Yeah, I know."
"No, I have a Phoenix Feather."
"Mmmhmmm, okay, goodnight... WAIT WHAT?!" Laurance finally wakes up to face you. You show him the feather. He cheers, pulls you close, and kisses you. You put the feather in your bag and think, Thanks, Aaron, for getting me a Phoenix Feather and a kiss from Laurance.
