Author's Note: Please read what I wrote at the end of this imagine.

Synopsis: The reader is a princess but falls in love with Henry.

Y/N

Meeting after meeting.

You would think the life of a princess is amazing and all. It actually isn't. It's nothing alike to what you've heard from fairytales or books.

The life of a princess is like any other one of you, but with more responsabillities since you're the one who's getting the throne and "power" after your parents. It can be quite stressing.

But what I hate the most, is the fact that I am forced to marry someone that belongs to a royal family. Two years ago I would've been totally fine with that, but now I'm not.

One year ago, I met this noble guy at the market. I know what you're going to say, "You're not supposed to be at the market. You're supposed to be at the palace." but you know, spending all your life behind those walls, being lectured about how to successfully run a country can sometimes get boring. I need my freedom, so as you could've guessed by now, I escaped.

And I'm glad I did, cause it led me to meet that one person, that I fell in love with. We've been seeing each other for about a year now, being careful not to be seen by any of the guards of course. We would normally just say a quick hello and how we missed each other. But not this time.

It was past midnight, and I made sure no one was around the halls before sneaking out of my room. Just as I was about to reach the back entrance, I heard a small voice calling me.

"Your Highness?" I heard Lilly, a new maid on our palace. I met her a few days ago and she's actually quite nice.

"Lilly, I told you to call me Y/N."

"Oh, I'm sorry. But, where are you going this late?"

"I'm just going to the gardens for some air, you know being a princess can be stressing some times." I tried to come up with a lie.

"You know what Lilly, it's late. You should go back to bed, I'll be fine."

"Of course, my lady." she answered, still not calling me by my first name. And with that said, she left the cozy room.

After that encounter, I tiptoed until I found the tall metal door that would lead me to my true love. I grabbed its handle and pushed the door open. I felt a breeze hit me on the face. Breathing in the fresh air, I thought of how amazing a life outside the castle would be.

Lost in thought, I didn't realized that Henry was standing in front of me until I felt his arms embrace me in a very necessary hug. Breathing in his familiar scent, I relaxed.

"Hey cutie." he said after we separated.

"Hello Henry." I said, lacing our fingers together.

We walked around the small village for at least an hour, talking about our problems, everything that was bothering us.

It was almost sunrise when we reached the door that would lead me back inside the big walls. He then turned me around, to face him and hugged me once again, just like at the beginning of this small journey.

"I'm so happy I bumped into you, my dear." he whispered into my ear.

"I love you, I wish it didn't have to be this way."

"I love you more." he replied.

My hands linked behind his neck, sometimes tugging small pieces of his hair. His, located around my small figure, sometimes rubbing my back in circles.

We were then interrupted from our hug when we heard someone clear their throats.

"Y/N Y/L/N. Why are you with him! How dare you disobey my orders." I was able to recognize that voice as my father's, the King.

"Dad! It-" I exclaimed after separating from Henry. I was interrupted by his voice, and that made me hold Henry's hand tighter, trying to hide him behind me.

"It's not what it looks like! That's what you were going to tell me, isn't it! Then what is this. You're not supposed to be with someone like him, you're supposed to be with princes or someone from the royalty at least! Not with this town boy."

"Dad, that's enough" I said calmly.

"I love him okay, and there's nothing in the world that will make me change my opinion. Isn't that how you felt about mom? She was not a princess as a matter of fact!"

"She was part of the royal family" he replied.

"She was a maid for the royal family, father." I said.

"Don't you dare talk like that to me, okay."

"No, dad listen." I was then interrupted once again by a small voice coming from behind me.

"With all due respect, Your Majesty. I'm in love with your daughter as much as she is in love with me. And I hope that you can accept us. It shouldn't matter whether I'm not as rich or have power like your family, or anything like that. What matters is the fact that I fell in love with her. Let me be with her. I promise you, I'll love her with all my heart, I'll never hurt her and of course, I'll never take advantage of her just because of her position. And if I do hurt her, which won't happen, you can throw me any punishment your heart desires. I beg you."

When Henry expressed those words with such an amount of feeling. My heart melted completely. I fell more in love with him, if that's even possible.

At the end, my father ended up agreeing. Of course, putting some conditions and giving him a death stare to scare him.

I found my prince charming, in a simple village boy who casually bumped into me, the other day.

Author's Note: I really like and enjoyed wiritng this imagine. I was thinking about writing one where Henry or Jared is the prince and all. If I do decide to write one, it's gonna be different from this one, except for the concept of the royalty and all.

Thank you guys SO much for all your support! I never thought I would go this far with my writing. We're so close to 1,000 reads and I honestly, couldn't be happier. I apologize if my writing is lacking (I hope it isn't).

Love you guys SO MUCH
