Synopsis: Regina prevents the reader from seeing Henry.

Y/N

My phone buzzed once again in my hand and I found no need to look at it to know who it was. With a sigh, I shut my phone and looked around me. Granny's Diner was a very small place and somehow looked like something out of a 50's movie.

It was now a Thursday morning and Monday's events were still haunting me. A frown found its way to my features as the memories came back to me, no detail being left out.

Standing in front of me that day was the mayor of our small town, Regina, Henry's mother who also happened to hate my guts.

"Y/N." she addressed me and my attention fixed on her. "Let's keep this short, you and I both know that I don't approve of you and my son, being together." she began, struggling to say the last word coherently. "I honestly just don't think you're good enough for someone like Henry and let's not forget that you're quite distracting as well." she rudely stated. "So, I would really appreciate if you could just stop seeing Henry and break whatever it is that you two have going on." she continued, a fake sympathy look plastered on her face as the corners of her lips turned into a small but noticeable smirk. "I hope you understand that I'm only doing this for both of your goods. I do expect you to make the right decision. Goodnight Miss Y/N." She finished as she was turning around, ready to walk away without giving me a last glance.

The familiar sound of bells ringing brought me back to reality, not really caring about the new clients as my eyes bore into the cashier machine right in front of me. Many voices were heard in the atmosphere as I tried to shut everything out, my eyes squeezed shut. I wasn't until I felt a hand shake my shoulder when they opened again, taking everything in once more.

The way the person placed their hand on my shoulder, I instantly knew who it was and turning around to face them was unecessary. Instead, I placed my head in between my hands and closed my eyes for the last time.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I heard his voice say. "What's bothering you?" he continued as I moved away from my previous position and saw him sat next to me, not before ordering for his usual hot chocolate with cinnamon, what a surprise.

"Nothing. Just lacking some sleep." I replied emotionless, which was not entirely a lie. Just as I was about to continue with my words, I heard Regina clearing up her throat, stopping me from any further movement.

"Y/N." she acknowledged me, a look that could kill anyone displayed on her face which was just enough for me to know that I was not wanted there, making me even more uncomfortable.

"Yeah, umm." I struggled with my words, not knowing exactly what to say as I quickly looked down at my phone for an escape. "My mom wants me back home immediately, so yeah." I lied as I gathered my stuff as fast as I could before heading towards the doors.

I was already halfway out the diner when I felt someone pull from my arm, turning me around to face them. Needless to say who that person was. The grip on my arm did not loosened as Henry brought me to a booth in the far end and made me sat down in front of him. Immediately, my eyes went to the table that kept the distance between us.

"Hey." he said, bringing his hand to my cheek, where I felt my body relax under his touch. "I don't know what's going on with you at the moment and you're really starting to worry me here. What's wrong?" he asked once again, his eyes looking for an answer in mine. I stayed quiet, not knowing how to reply to a question that seemed to simple but in reality, was so complex. My lips slightly parted, yet no words were heard leaving my mouth.

"Whenever I come across you, you do as if I didn't exist. Whenever I text you, there's no answer. When I try to call you, it just go straight to voicemail. What is happening, Y/N? What did I do wrong? Tell me, so I can find a way to fix it and put this behind us." Stil no response left my mouth and I felt the tears brimming my eyes.

"Everytime I see you, I die. You are killing me and you don't even know it. This silence, it's killing me. Please help me out here." Those words were enough to make the tears fall down my face and I put my head down in my hands. Soon feeling his presence beside me, his arms slipping around my frame, holding me. Him telling me that whatever was bothering me would soon be over, that everything was going to be okay, that together we would get through this phase. His hands rubbing my back in a calming way while he pressed small kisses to the top of my head.

Everything I ever needed, wanted and missed was right beside me.
