Synopsis: The reader and Henry are best friends but his girlfriend makes him choose between the both of them.

Y/N

I was sitting on the couch waiting for my best friend, Henry to come by so we could have our usual Friday movie night. Lately he's been ditching me for his girlfriend. I understand that they deserve to have some alone time but this is getting out of hand. The fact that he's cancelling every single plan we've prepared with two weeks of anticipation is pissing me off. I must admit, at first I did not second thought it, it was totally fine with me, but then day after day he texted me with the same old boring excuse.

Hoping this time it wouldn't be the same, I didn't realize the sound of the doorbell. It wasn't until I heard my brother yelling.

"Go answer the door! It's probably Henry."

Running out of the door and climbing down the stairs, I opened the door excitedly. Once I saw his face, I knew that he was not going to ignore me this time. I let him enter and he quickly made himself at home.

"Go and choose a movie, I'm gonna go get some popcorn." I said.

"Got it."

While Henry went upstairs, I entered the kitchen where I grabbed the microwaveable popcorn. When the microwave beeped, I took out the bag careful not to burn myself. I grabbed the plastic bowl beside me and dropped the food inside. After throwing the empty bag on the trash, I grabbed the bowl and began climbing up the stairs.

I entered the room and saw that Henry chose the new Star Wars movie (A/N: This one's for you Trin.) He pressed play once I sat beside him with the popcorn in between both of us. Halfway through the movie, I saw Henry constantly looking at his phone. I didn't thought much of it.

Henry turned to look at me after pausing the movie.

"Hey!" I said while trying to reach the control.

"Y/N I've got to go. I promised to take Christine to dinner. I'm sorry."

With that said, he kissed my forehead, grabbed his jacket and left the house. Of course, Christine, his girlfriend. Did I honestly expected everything to go perfect and just like old times.

It's been two weeks since our movie night, and you guessed right. He missed the last two movie nights as well.

It was Tuesday and I was tired of all of it. The bell rang, signaling the beginning of lunch. I closed my locker's door and saw Henry walking out of the English classroom. I immediately ran up to him to ask him if he wanted to hang out after school.

"Henry! Hey. Do you want to do something after school?" I asked.

"I can't, sorry." he replied quick and quiet.

"So when can y-"

I was stopped by the high pitched annoying voice of Christine.

"Babe, what are you doing with her. I thought we agreed that you wouldn't hang out with her anymore."

"What the heck. Hold on, you did what." I said with a shocked tone.

"I'm sorry but I honestly think we should start seeing new people and meet new frien-"

"Stop the bullshit Henry. She made you choose and you chose her instead of me. Henry! I've known you since forever. She's known you for two months, two months. Are you serious right now?" I said, mad.

"I am, I just feel like we're driftin-"

"You're the one who's drifting apart, not me!"

I walked away. Quickly drying my tears as I left behind, what I thought was an everlasting friendship.
