Synopsis: One day Jared decides to visit a newly opened ice cream parlor and was surprised when a girl around his age caught his eye.
Third Person
Every day after filming hours, it was a routine for Jared to walk around the block, mostly to get rid of all the stress that was probably placed upon his shoulders a few hours previous.
As his feet kept moving, guiding him wherever, his eyes traveled through the sights in front of him. From a small park to a library to a street full of parked bicycles. Though there was one building that did catch his eye quite well. With its pastel yellow colored walls, Jared wondered how he never saw the place before.
Walking towards the parlor that caught his eye, a clear image of the place began to appear in front of him. As described before, a pastel yellow was the color chosen for the building's walls, tall glass windows clearly allowed a person to see through it and into the very colorful place and last but certainly not least, a thin rectangle of wood displayed the place's name making it clear to whoever passed by that it was an ice cream parlor, a very cute one if I may add.
Deciding to give the ice cream parlor a chance, the boy walked towards it, in hopes that it wasn't full of people seeing as he was in no mood or condition where he could feel calm around a diverse multitude.
Somehow, it seemed as if his prayers were answered. As Jared took his first steps into the shop, a bell above him rang, alerting everyone that a new client was present. Once he took a good look around him, Jared realized that the parlor only had around 3 tables filled with people, considering that it was pretty late at night.
His head then turned to the counter in the center that happened to have a freezer, where all the ice cream flavors where displayed and stored. Next to the small freezer place, lots of toppings, waffle cones and cups were placed in order and besides that stood the cashier machine, no explanation needed for this one.
The boy's attention soon moved on to a girl who worked there and Jared felt nothing but a tightness around his throat, for a second forgetting how to breathe properly. Never in a million years, he would've guessed that he would come across a breathtaking girl in an ice cream parlor with a small smile on her face, ready to give assistance to whoever needed it.
"Hello! How can I help you?" said a sweet voice that belonged to the girl standing behind the counter, a space that not too long ago, was empty. Jared was shocked, to say at least. Not expecting the welcoming and cheerful tone he was directed with.
"Oh! Right." he spoke at last, his eyes wandering around the glass surface, looking through all the flavors and colors. "Y/N, that's your name right?" he asked when reading her name tag, the question soon feeling stupid as it left his lips.
"Yeah, that's me. And you are?" she asked him
"Jared, Jared Gilmore." he answered as a small smile formed on his face.
"Nice to meet you. So, is there any flavor that caught your eye?" Jared took one last glance at lines of ice cream before looking back at her.
"Surprise me." he exclaimed, a huge smile on his face. Y/N let out a small laugh before nodding and taking a small waffle cone in her hands. Dipping the scooper into a mug with what Jared guessed was hot water, the girl moved on to one of the containers as she scooped the creamy substance into a ball and placing it on top of the waffle cone.
Jared's face reflected a confused expression as he saw Y/N extend her hand with the cone on it, a color that resembled vanilla ice cream yet he knew it wasn't that flavor. The girl let out a small giggle as she placed it in Jared's hands. He looked at it, turning it around, curious as to what it was or what is tasted like.
"What's this flavor that you gave me?" he asked her as he took a 3 dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the girl, telling her to keep the change.
"Try it and then I'll tell you." she answered while placing her chin on top of her hands, observing the guy in front of her. Jared took this as a signal to bring the cone to his mouth, where he immediately was met with a combination of flavors. Salty yet sweet.
"So? What do you think?" she asked him, small laughs leaving her mouth.
"Surprisingly, it's very good!" he exclaimed with disbelief. "Wait, wait, wait." he said as his tastebuds identified the familiar flavors. "Did you just give me a bacon flavored ice cream?" he asked, scrunching his nose.
"Maybe." she answered.
"Well, it's good." he told her. "I have to go now, but you'll see me around more often." he finalized with a cheeky grin on his face before turning around and walking away from the small place.
Day after day, Jared looked up to his usual strolls where he would go to the ice cream parlor, in hopes to see the girl that captivated his attention. Every day, he was presented with a smiling girl with a cone ready for him, an unknown flavor waiting for him. From a sweet corn ice cream to smoked salmon ice cream. Though there was one time, one visit, that has been saved on Jared's memory for the past week.
That day, as usual, he entered the ice cream place, where Y/N already had her hands extended with the cone in her hands. Instantly, he took it from her and before he could taste it, Y/N said: "It's garlic flavor. I would never give you a kiss after trying that but go ahead." a shocked expression showed on his face as he registered the words that had just left the girl's mouth. Remembering that day only gave him a small spark of hope.
It was already dark out when he arrived to the place. He walked up to the counter where he was met with Y/N standing in front of him, a huge smile formed on her face when she saw him enter.
"Surprise me." he told her, seeing as no ice cream cone was waiting on her hands this time. Y/N's smile soon turned into a worried and shy expression as she made a sudden movement that shocked the two of them.
Right after those two words left his mouth, Y/N took advantage of the closeness around them before closing the distance, connecting their lips into a soft and long kiss. All of Y/N's worries leaving her body as she felt Jared kiss her back almost instantly. Jared was the first one to pull away, a smile finding its way to his lips reflecting Y/N's grin.
Who ever knew, that ice cream would change each other's lives. Something so stupid yet so amazing at the same time.
