Preston's POV
Twisting and turning I grunted in annoyance as the covers wrapped up around my legs and torso, I felt reckless and stiff.
Like something deep down didn't want me to sleep. I laided here for hours trying my best to close my eye's and fall into a comforting slumber.
But I just couldn't get comfortable.
Was it because I wasn't back at the kingdom?
Was it because instead of the desert view I was meted by tons of spruce tree's?
Was it the new friends I made today?
Was it because I was excited to see them in the morning?
My guess was because I slept all the way here..
Well fudge me.
Laying my head down on the mattress I stared out the window amazed by all the tree's.
It reminded me of my old manor, in the north, cringing at the thought I turned away.
Soon getting startled by footsteps that echoed the hallways.
Laying down I laid on my back staring up at the tall cone shaped ceiling.
I guess I wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep.
The footsteps disappeared further down the hall, probably gonna get up and make breakfast.
Suddenly a cold breeze snuck into my bed, perking up I suddenly felt really weird.
It's been a really long time since the cold affected me.
Was it because I was in a colder climate?
Or?
N-no it can't be?!
Sitting up I shuffled my way out of my room, gazing down the hallway to see no one.
Was it just my imagination?
Slowly closing the door behind me I made my way down the hall, warming up my body I listened for the person.
Sneaking my way through I looked down the ledge of stairs and caught a glimpse of their sweater.
Turning towards the stairs I quietly made my way down stopping mid way when I noticed they were in the ballroom.
Quietly making my way down the rest of the stairs, I sneaked over to the door but before I can sneak another glance the person started humming.
They started humming a French baroque song from the Northern kingdom, my heart seemed to flutter as I stood in place it sounding all to familar.
I knew this song fairly well despite his humming I could have sang along.
It's like I could have heard the grand piano playing in the background, along with flutes and the harp.
~
Dancing around the big ballroom with maidens dressed beautifully, gentlemen dressed in their best attire.
The chandelier sparkled beautifully like stars in the midnight sky, no other little kids ran around the dance floor.
