Preston's POV
The day seemed to fly by real fast letting the dark skies cloud us into the manor.
From the looks of it there was a storm rolling in, while many people were scared such as Choco and Kenny who hid in their rooms playing away on there instruments waiting for the loud booms of thunder that can be heard in distance.
Unlike them I sat by the window memorized by the shocks of lightening coming our way, I found storms beautiful sure they can be scary but somehow that's the beauty of it like kind of living on edge.
I found it funny as I heard from my father that my ancestors went storm chasing, and that's why in our family we have a big group of boys rather than girls, because the girls found the storms more interesting.
As dark clouds rolled their way closer towards us I can only feel something tug at my nerves.
It was almost midnight and yet Rob and Pete weren't here yet. Rain started pounding on the glass, the fresh scent of it filling my nose breathing in deeply I exhaled feeling relaxed, but yet loneliness started to take over me I remember the times me and my family would all sit on the balcony watching the storm head our way, our mother would say that sitting there was an act of courage, letting our futures face the harsh reality, and makes us stronger as the wind picks up, the thunder booms, and the lighting striking down, and the coolness of the rain drops on your skin.
It somewhat made you feel more alive and in the moment.
But as I remember now and look around me it's only me.
None of my younger siblings nor my two older siblings, or my parents I was the last one left.
The storm swallowed up my parents eating them away like nothing. So that's why I decided to face the storm head on, just for them.
Suddenly a memory popped up in my head, it was of me and Rob.
~
We were in his garden like always and we sat by the pond on a stone bench watching dark clouds form around us, we were just kids and I was still slightly scared of loud noises and whenever the thunder cracked I would jump, and when it stared raining I whined for us to go inside, but Rob sat stiff like a rock, letting the water droplets hit his body.
And his eyes would glow a light blue, as he was memorized by the storm, he then turned to me and smiled grabbing my hand.
