Hi. For some of you who have been reading my works, this is a first that I have chosen a song to accompany you with your reading. I listened to this song while writing this chapter and I think it fits this chapter perfectly. I'm not sure if you'll be seeing more of these song attachments for the proceeding chapters, but if you do, do try playing them while reading on. Enjoy reading!

“I’ll be going now Natie.” Chris said as he wears his shoes at the door step.

“Y-yeah, take care.”

He stands up and opens the front door, but before leaving he looks at me one more time, “Natie, you promised me, okay?”

“Y-yeah I will…” I replied hesitantly. He gives me a smile as he leaves.

“Are you done eating your dinner, Nat?” My mom calls me out from the kitchen.

“I’ll… bring it down in a while.” I went back to my room, taking the tray with me and going back downstairs. After washing my dishes, I went quietly back to my room and laid down my bed. I tried remembering the conversation I had with Chris earlier.

“What’s bothering you Natie?”

“I… I’m…”

“Come on, don’t leave me hanging here.”

“I’m… moving…”

“By moving, do you mean moving to another house or…” I kept silent and nod down my head. He seemed to understand what I meant by the gesture I made and asked another question.

“Moving? W-where?”

“I don’t know yet.”

“W-when will you move?”

“By the start of the next semester, around mid-July.”

“I see… did you tell them already?”

“I… I can’t.”

“Why? They should know—“

“Why should they know? Will letting them know make me going away disappear? No. It’ll just make things worse.”

“It’s even worse not telling them a thing! They’re your friends too, Natie!” Chris raised his tone.

“But I don’t need friends!” I just realized I did as well, though it was not my intention, “I just… don’t want them to feel sad or anything…”

“Then tell them. They’ll understand. They’re worried about you Natie for a whole week now.”

“I can’t… I really can’t.”

“You can. Just trust me on this one, Natie.”

“N-no, let’s forget about this—“

“Look if you want someone to come along with you, then I’m here. Just please let them know.”

“C-Chris…”

“Hey, you’re not going to lose your friends because of your shyness. I won’t allow that.”

“Why do you care so much about me?”

“B-because...”

“Hmm?”

“Let’s… make a deal.”
