“N-Natie?” Chris uttered as he stands up.
“Chris, I need you off the arena. Please.” Soon facing the person in front of me, it was like staring at the mirror.
“Who the hell are you?!” the other Yuit speaks, growling at me.
“I’m the only one you should face. After all…” taking a brief pause as I took out the mirror, I change back to my original avatar and continue, “I’m the one you’re after.”
“Hey! There are two Yuits now!”
“Who’s who now?! Which one’s the innocent and the evildoer?”
The crowd seems to be in distraught as to what they saw. I never thought it was possible, to have another person look exactly like my avatar. Was it because of the latest mirror update? No, I can’t think about that right now. I need to focus on taking her down, not for my own sake, but for others as well.
Having the right to choose the duel settings, I choose to stick with the last setting it was on: Strike Point.
The timer resets as we both walk down to our side of the arena.
“Original or not, I will still defeat you!” The other Yuit remarked, I pay no attention to her words and focused myself.
Taking deep breaths as the timer runs down, I use my one strike stance, bending down slightly lower than usual. The other Yuit, on the other hands, tries and mimics me doing the same stance, as if declaring her confidence to overcome me with the same move.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
A buzz emits and our duel starts. The other Yuit starts rushing in at full speed, expecting me to do the same. On the contrary, I stand my ground and just as she reaches my sword’s range, I quickly draw my blade out, aiming for her feet. Realizing what I was aiming for, she makes a quickly timed backflip and as I draw my sword all out from its sheath, she does as well, attempting a chest hit. Blocking it with my sheath, transitioning to a low axis spin, I attempt another strike at her abdomen but is blocked by her blade. Jumping back and sheathing my blade in place, I position myself once more and she doing the same thing.
“Just as most claim, you’re good.” The other Yuit praises me.
“Why are you doing this?”
“Well, you’ll just have to defeat me first.”
My one strike stance doesn’t seem to be effective at her. With this in mind, I unsheathe my blade, holding it in front of me, keeping the sheath behind me. This was the opposite of the style I taught Chris. Knowing that she might know that stance as she saw it first hand with her duel with Chris, using that style was unwise.
The other Yuit still positioned herself for a one strike stance. This time, I was the one who charged in. If Chris’ style was waiting for the enemy to strike, the opposite of it was to strike first before the enemy. We both were at each other’s blade range in a mere second, as she draws her sword at me, aiming once more at my chest. Spinning towards the left, I hit her from behind with the hilt of my blade.
“Answer my question now: why are you doing this?” I tried persuading her once more.
“Didn’t I tell you already? Defeat me first.” The other Yuit positions herself for another one strike stance.
It was only less than thirty seconds before our duel ends. This might be the last time I will be able to change stances. I look at the viewing platform to where Chris was, to my surprise, I found Sara with him, along with Kathy and Alicia’s avatars, Yulene and Faylin. This was the only chance I had to clear any misunderstanding this fake Yuit has done in my appearance and name.
