Summer is near. It’s just a matter of days till it’s officially here. Everyone’s talking about it, their plans on going somewhere or doing something memorable. I had my own plans too, that is after that one obstacle that every one of us is currently facing now.

Finals week; just after this hurdle and our long awaited vacation is upon us.

It was a Friday, just minutes away from dismissal when our classroom adviser, Mr. Hank, gave us final instructions before going home.

“I know it’s a weekend for the next two days but you guys should be studying for next week’s finals! For those who will fail, it’s summer classes for you so I suggest you do your best now and pass! Alright, that’s all. Dismissed!”

Just as we were packing up and some were about to leave, Mr. Hank soon speaks up again.

“I almost forgot! I’ll be staying online in Grandiel Online for a while so whoever doesn’t heed my advice and wants to level up instead, you just leave a message, okay?”

Some of us laughed off, and I hear a nearby conversation from the guys.

“I thought he was gonna say something important.”

“Yeah, well it isn’t Sir Hank if he isn’t that way.”

“Wanna go level up a few notches?” one of them started rounding up the others instead of studying. I was looking around Natasha and her two friends when I somehow overhear them talking about some afternoon study session today.

“Hey Chris! Wanna join us? We could use an extra sword.”

“Huh? W-well… I’ve got… plans today, sorry.”

“Really? That’s too bad. I guess it’s just us then.” And with that I parted ways with my friends as they went home to their houses. I looked back at Natasha’s position and did not find them there. They must’ve left a few minutes ago.

I hurriedly carried my bag along with me as I left the room in a rush, hoping to catch up with them. And I did, a few flights of stairs going down, I soon catch glimpse of the three of them changing to their outdoor shoes.

“Natie!” I called her out as I went towards her.

“Oh Chris, what’s up?” she said casually as she flips her long, red hair at the back of her ear.

“Can I join you three today?”

“T-today? What do you mean?”

“You know, your study session.”

“How’d you—“ the three seemed surprised about me knowing it. “I kind of overheard it, sorry.”

“I-I see… well, what do you think, Penn, Eri?” Natasha asked her two friends.

“Hmm, why not? He is YOUR friend after all, Nat.” Penelope answered as if implying something towards Natasha in a way. “Geez, Penn, just say yes if you agree. How about you, Eri?” she then looks at Erica’s direction.

“N-no objections here…”  The shy Erica agreed as well.

“Alright. Then, you’re free to join us.” She beams up a smile towards me.

“Thanks.” And from there the four of us went out towards Natasha’s house. Even though I know where she lives, it’s actually quite different when you know you’re going there. This is the first time I’m going to a girl’s house after a long while. We made a quick stop at the convenience store to buy some snacks as we study later on.

As they take their time picking snacks, I immediately knew what I want: a can of coffee. I actually bought two, one for later and the other, well, I was feeling thirsty. I paid at the cashier and popped open one as I sat at the chairs there, waiting for them.
