Thursday afternoon, it was the same as always. Looking at everyone yawn and stretch out with a feeling of relief that classes were over.
“You awfully look pleased, Chris. Did something happen yesterday?” Richardson asks the moment he arrived at my seat.
“Not much, but something like that.”
“You don’t say? Well, let’s leave it at that.” I pick up my bag and was about to leave the classroom when I hear someone call out to me.
“Chris! Sir Hank’s looking for you.” It was _______, who helped our last teacher earlier carrying his projector back to the faculty.
“Got it! I’ll drop by now.”
I went down a few stairs and soon arrived at the faculty. There, I saw a person I wasn’t expecting.
“C-Chris?!”
“Sara?! What are you doing here?” I walk towards her.
“Well, I’m waiting for someone inside. How ‘bout you?”
“Our adviser’s looking for me, so I came.”
“Oh, well feel free to enter.” She steps aside and let me through the door. I knock a few times and open the door.
“Pardon the intrusion.” I said with a clear voice. I look around towards Sir Hank’s desk and I found someone unexpected.
“N-Natie?” wait does that mean… Natasha is the person Sara was waiting for? I guess that must be it since she’s the only one here inside the faculty besides me.
“Chris…”
“Oh, you’re here. Perfect timing!” Sir Hank looks like he was really expecting me.
“Well then, Sir Hank. I’ll be leaving now.”
“Oh, really? Good luck out there, Graham!” Good luck? What did she need the luck for? Natasha left quietly.
“Now Chris. I need you to help me work on something.”
“W-what is it sir?”
“A farewell party!”
“H-huh? I don’t quite get it, sir.” I was confused.
“Right, I still haven’t told you. It looks like Ms. Graham’s transferring out.”
“Y-yes, I know.”
“R-really? She already told you huh? Well that makes things easier. I think we should give her a just party before she leaves, don’t you agree?”
“Of course! She deserves it.” I strongly answered.
“Well, gather up everyone else because we’re gonna prepare her the best party we can give her!” Sir Hank sand with much enthusiasm and passion.
“Sir Hank, if you could just keep it down a bit… you’re kinda disturbing us…” a co-teacher said to her.
“S-sorry!”
After our talk, I left the faculty and went out of school to go home. I didn’t even bother talking the train today, I preferred walking all the way home.
“A party, huh?” I softly said to myself.
Despite me knowing she was about to leave, I still was trying to piece together all the facts that have been presented to me. My reasons for being nice to Natasha, I still have to tell her my reasons for doing so. Before she left, I’ve got to tell her.
That Friday, we were all surprised that day when Sir Hank entered the classroom instead of our physics teacher.
“Guys! Today we don’t have classes!”
