“Whaa!! My summer vacation!!” a discouraging cry came from my friend, Penelope. Well it was disheartening hearing her fail. But I was wondering why Erica also failed since I know she studies a lot.

“D-don’t mind it too much Penn… even I failed…” Erica, while patting her shoulder, tried consoling her as well. But I hear her sigh lightly as well. It really was depressing if you know that you’d fail even when you tried your best.

“I wanted to go to amusement parks! To the beach!” Penelope continues agonizing about her summer. Who wouldn’t in my opinion? I soon thought of Chris, I know he also failed the finals. Out of the blue, I thought of something to cheer my two friends up.

“Let’s go this weekend! To an amusement park!”

“E-eh?” Isn’t it a bit too sudden..?” Erica looks confused just as much as Penelope when she looks up at me, completely forgetting her agonizing summer.

“Yeah, Nat. Why the sudden urge to go to one?”

“Because… it’s fun?”

“And? Anything else?”

“It’s summer and… you know, we three should hang out!”

“Haah… you aren’t the type to go make such suggestions, Nat.” Penelope noted. Well, I guess she is right about that.

“But, I’ll bite. This weekend okay?!” Penelope’s back in her hyped up personality.

“W-where should we meet up then?”

“How about at my place? I’ve already a place in mind.” I suggested and the two doesn’t seem to have any problems with it and thus my plans for this weekend are booked.

“S-say Nat. What did Chris tell you?” Erica soon stumbled on that.

“O-oh, that…”

“Did he do something?!” Penelope said somewhat agitated.

“Nothing of the sort, he just… apologized… and…”

“And?” My two friends said in unison.

“We… sorted things out.”

“And?”

“W-what else do you expect me to say?” I looked at them and saw Penelope grin as she responds, “You could say that you two… ahem… kissed or something.”

“K-k-k-kissed?!” Now it was me and Erica who said that in unison.

“I’m just joking! Come on!”

We continued on our way home, until the three of us parted ways, Erica taking a left turn towards her house; with Penelope going over the other station platform as she was going the other way as mine.

I board the next train and sat quietly and looked at the window. I thought about what I suggested earlier; I really am not that sure that I’ll even be allowed to go out this weekend. I haven’t asked my dad about it yet.

It was around 10 in the morning when I got out of the train and out of the station. A little moment later, I saw someone pedalling across me. I looked closely and it was Chris. He seems to have noticed me and I waved at him. I wonder where he was going at this time.

Not long after, I arrive home. As I was about to open the door, I just saw my dad leaving.

“D-dad?”

“Oh, Natasha. Welcome back.” He greets me with a smile.

“I’m back.”

“Well, I better get going. I’ll be late.”
