Free time: it is that period wherein a teacher isn’t able to come to your class due to unavailability during that day, whether it be personal or something else. It was also this time when Alicia Hillson, the tall blonde girl who was sitting beside me on the right, talked with me along with some people in the class who were adjacent to us.
“So, Natasha, do you have any particular hobbies?” Alicia asked.
“U-um, I don’t have that much besides Grandiel, but I guess I’m okay at any sport.”
“A gamer girl huh? Quite common but, I guess almost everyone here in this school is a gamer.” A girl sitting behind my back remarked.
“Speaking of which, why did you guys cheer on earlier when I said I play Grandiel?”
“Oh, right. Wait a sec.” Alicia said, standing up and looking over towards the boy’s group who were conversing at the corner in the back.
“Hey, Marcus! Come here for a second.” Marcus had grey hair, paired with red eyes which stand out because of his hair color. He walked towards our place, wherein he was almost as tall as Alicia.
“L-look I already said I’m sorry and –“
“No, that’s not it! Listen first, idiot.” Alicia lightly hits Marcus in the head.
“Ouch! You violent woman.”
“Shut it! Now, tell us why we cheered earlier.”
“Oh right.” Marcus looks at me and continues, “You see… all of Class 2-1 is part of one guild in Grandiel.”
“R-really?”
“Yep.” Marcus replied.
“Not just any guild mind you, but we’re also famous and strong!” a classmate of mine added.
“So, what’s your guild there?” I asked waiting for their reply.
“Nova Raiders.”
“You mean… the current guild in the city of Crain?”
“Yep, that’s right.” Alicia nods.
“So, wanna come check out our guild later today?” Marcus added.
“I’ll… take up the offer then.”
“Great!” Marcus exclaimed, calling everyone’s attention afterwards, “I have an announcement, everyone!” Everyone stopped in what they were doing and looked at him.
“We’ll have a meeting at the guild house later on, so I’d expect everybody to come, alright?!”
“YEAH!!!” Everyone cheered in unison. I’d like to think Miss Rachel was wrong about one thing, they were quite loose when no teacher was around. But, I guess that was fine since I would have a harder time if they weren’t.
When the bell rang, Alicia looks at me as we were both tidying up our desks.
“Hey Natasha, wanna eat lunch together?”
“E-eh?”
“Oh, you don’t want to?”
“N-no it’s nothing. Sure, I’ll come along.”
This was the first time somebody whom I just met invited me over to have lunch with them. It was blissful, this first day of school that is. I was somehow relieved on how this class just accepted me immediately. Well, that’s what they’re trying to show me at least, and I feel at ease with them and right after I started today.
Class resumed afterwards, and again, the bell rang and it was dismissal already. While I was placing my notebooks back on my bag, I receive a message coming from the school’s LAN system.
