"Is the baby okay?" I asked.
"The baby is perfect, Rosie Posie! You can come see it in a few minutes, they're just going to clean it up a bit and give Vanni a little bit to rest. I'll come get you soon, okay?" Riker explained.
I nodded. "Yay! I'm so happy for you!"
"I am too!" Ross said.
Riker walked back to Savannah and Ross and I waited for Riker to come and tell us we were okay to see the baby.
"When will everyone else be here, Ross?" I asked.
"Um..." he said, looking down at his phone after he realised it was dead. "I don't know. They were going to text me but I can't get any now."
"Oh. Well, maybe we'll be the first to see him or her," I said, trying to look on the bright side. It was quite obvious Ross was exhausted and not in the best mood. I'm sure sitting in a hospital all day watching a your annoying little sister and then having your phone die doesn't help much.
"Yeah, maybe you're right, Ro." We sat and waited, staring at the blank wall in front of us for about 15 minutes. People walked back and forth and every time, Ross' and my heads shot up to see if it was Riker.
"Hey, wake up." I opened my eyes to see Riker kneeling in front of me. "Hey, sweetheart," he whispered. I was on Ross' lap, still in the waiting room. I guess I fell asleep. I yawned and sat up straighter.
"Can we go see the baby now?"
"You mean babies," Riker corrected. I gasped.
"Really?!" That really woke me up. "Boy or girl or both?"
"Come with me and I'll show you!" Riker told me. Ross stood up and took me with him. It was dark outside, leaving me to wonder how long we had been waiting and why no one was here yet.
"Ross?" I asked, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Mmhmm?" He hummed.
"Where is everyone else?"
"I don't know. They'll be here later."
"Alright," I said, feeling the steady beat of Ross' steps. Riker knocked at a door ad I heard a faint 'come in' before we entered. I hung onto Ross tight not knowing what to expect. Savannah was laying on the bed, almost asleep. In the corner, there were two clear cradles with two little babies in them. Ross put me down and Riker took my hand, leading me to the corner.
"This is Violet," he said, pointing to the little girl in the cradle, wrapped up in a little purple, or rather violet, blanket. "And this is Spencer." He pointed to a tiny blue bundle. They were all... red. And cute, but still, red. I didn't know they looked like that. "Do you want to hold them?"
I smiled. "Yeah!" Riker picked me up and set me on the bed, next to Vanni's feet. He put pillows and blankets around me and piled them up under my arms. He placed Violet in my arms, as Spencer was asleep and didn't want to wake him up. I looked down at her and saw her almost black eyes staring back at me. She had the most gorgeous blonde hair, little whisps of it here and there. She began to cry so Riker took her away and placed Spencer into my arms. He had the same dark eyes but had dark hair to go along with them. They were absolutely perfect.
"Hi, Spencer," I greeted, even though he couldn't understand me. Savannah smiled at me.
"Are we keeping 'em?" she asked.
"Of course! They are perfect," I marveled. Riker took off his blanket and sat down with him next to me.
"Are you still upset? Or are you going to love them?"
"I am absolutely in love. No doubt about it."
