Mom and Dad

"My babies!" someone yelled. I looked up after minutes of silence and stillness. My mom was running towards us with Dad at her heels. Riker jumped up and ran to engulf them in a hug. I stayed put. Better to not get attached to things.

They began to walk to walk towards us. "C'mon, Ro! Join the family!" Riker called.

"It isn't even the family. It's just us two and you two," I corrected.

"Then join the half the family!" Dad told me. I groaned and still didn't move.

"She's been upset lately," Riker told Mom.

"No I haven't," I said simply, getting up and walking the opposite way of my family, towards the exit.

"Wait up!" Dad called as everyone rushed to catch up to me. "We have to go to baggage claim!"

"To bad, I'll wait in the car."

"You can't, honey! It's not safe here. Come with us, please," Mom begged. I sighed and turned around. We walked a ways and made it to baggage claim. I slumped into a new seat as we waited or the luggage to come through the carousel. It went round and round and our baggage was not coming. Finally, 3 black bags rounded the corner and Riker rushed to save Mom and Dad the trouble of getting it themselves. He set them on the floor and everyone took one except me. I race out the doors and to the car. Mom, Dad, and Riker lost sight of me very soon as I ran through the parking lot and climbed into the backseat of the car. I huffed and sat down, waiting for my soon-to-be angry parents and brother to get in. That wasn't the case though.

"Hello, Rosannah! I've missed you so much!" Mom said, getting into the passenger's seat as my dad got in the drivers and Riker came to sit next to me.

"Yeah,'' I replied.

"You're being rude," Riker scolded.

"No, I'm not. Gimme a break. Can we just go home? I'm tired."

"It's only 9:00," Dad told me.

"So? I'm tired."

"Okay," Dad said and we began to drive. We had 2 hours left, meaning we would probably get home at 11:30 with traffic and everything. I really was tired, I wasn't lying, but I would survive not sleeping one night. By 10:00, I leaned my head on Riker's shoulder and closed my eyes as I drifted off to sleep. Hopefully everything would be better in the morning.
