After class Steve dragged me with him to talk to Mr. Dalton into giving him the flyer. Naturally Mr. Dalton refused, saying that we'd try to go—which isn't necessarily untrue, we probably will.

Steve then responds by saying that he only wants it to hang up on his wall, then realizes that sounds weird and elaborates saying it looks cool.

After a few more minutes Mr. Dalton sighs, cuts off the address, and hands the paper over to Steve. Since it is already a few minutes into last period Mr. Dalton writes us both a note and we are on our way.

"Do you honestly want to hang it on your wall?" I ask, with a soft chuckle.

"No offense, but I wanna go to it."

"None taken," I say, "I want to go too."

After school we meet up at the front of the school where the other's are already huddled in a small circle. Steve presents the bright flyer to them and we all begin our discussion.

"Its fake." Darren says without hesitation.

"Why?" Alan asks.

"They don't allow freak shows anymore," Darren rolls his eyes.

"Its not fake." Alan insists.

"Where'd you get it?" Tommy asks.

"I stole it." Alan says softly. "It belonged to Tony."

"You stole from Tony?!" We all yelled.

Tony used to go here, he isn't much older than we are, but he is still feared by ever twelve year old in this town. Tony is infamous for being a bully and if you attempt to cross him you might as well be hospitalized already.

"It was in the wash, I switched it with another blank piece of paper so he'll think the ink washed off."

"Good idea." I say with a somewhat proud smile, Alan is the smart one of the group. The rest of us are idiots.

"We need the money if we plan on going..." Darren says.

"I got five dollars." Alan says. Pulling out a five and placing it in front of him.

"Got a twenty." Tommy says placing a twenty on Alan's five.

"Fifteen," Darren says placing three fives on top of the others dollar bills.

"I have a ten." Steve says also placing his in the pile.

"I got fifteen dollars," I say while sighing. This is only 65 dollars there we need a lot more money if we are gonna be able to all go to this show. Then it hits me. "Oh I got this I'll ask my parents for some money."

"How much is one ticket anyway?" Steve asks while picking up his money again so that the wind doesn't blow it all away. The others soon follow.

"23 dollars." Alan asks.

"No one would pay 23 dollars to see a bunch of freaks." Steve snorts.

I pretended to be hurt. "Ouch." I say holding my heart.

"You know what I meant." Steve says.

"Hah, yeah. It would cost a grand total of 115 dollars for all of us to go."

"Wow you did that in your mind?" Steve asks while taking amazement. He could do that too and it's annoying that he looks down on me this way.

I roll my eyes while I try my best to not let the annoyance make me knock this boy out.

"The show sounds great." Tommy says while he begins to sound dreamy. He does this some times but it's usually when he talks about this famous female soccer player.
