-Still Darren's POV-
I stare at the shaking girl as she is halfway through changing. I blush and slightly avert my eyes, good thing it was too dark for her to notice me.
"Wh-What's wrong?" I stutter.
She glares over at us and throws a blue pillow at us.
Me and Evra manage to dodge, but Sam gets hit in the face. He takes it and throws it back at Tux.
Tux glares even harder and throws it back before she finish changing.
She sighs, "Hey, Sam, its pretty late. Shouldn't you be getting home?"
"You think?"
"Unless you want to be eaten my the Wolf-Man!" I spook him, aiding Tux in her effort to get rid of the blonde.
He is shocked, "Al-Alright, my parents will probably be look-loking for me anyway." He nods.
"I'll walk you out, so no one tries to scare or eat you." Evra jokes before pulling the boy out of the van, but not before giving me a peace sign and a wink causing me to blush.
When the van door closed again I turned back to the fully clothed Tux - that is now sitting on her hammock, yawning.
"Why'd you scream?" I ask as I climb onto my hammock.
"I just saw a spider. It just surprised me."
"Are you sure that is what happened?" I ask, not convinced.
"Alright, I saw a spider and thought of Madam Octa, its not that big of a deal."
"I thought you were being killed in here!" I yell.
She laughs, "Of course not. Thanks for worrying though."
"Why would I not worry?!" I explode.
She sighs, "I don't know, you might hate me after hanging out with Steve so much before."
"Of course not." I sigh, "I love you, as a friend and a...crush. But if you like someone else I would never hate you."
"I don't hate you, never have, and honestly... never will. Even if you killed an army of people or my closest friend I would never."
"Thanks, Tux."
"But, you need to explain to me what happened. How and why you're a vampire, why you kept it a secret, the whole shabang."
"Well, of course, to start, I became a vampire to save Steve. Steve was in the hospital for what felt like years and I didn't want to be the reason if he died. Since he was bitten by Madam Octa I searched out the original owner of the spider, Mr. Crepsley."
"So Mr. Crepsley save Steve?"
"Basically, we snuck into Steve's hospital room and gave him an antidote. I was supposed to leave with him then, but I ran off and tried living normally as a half vampire."
"Wait, you were already a vampire?"
"Oh right, I had to become a vampire in order for him to give me the antidote for Steve."
"Was there some sort of Satanic ritual that went along with it?"
"Not really, we just cut our fingers and pressed our hands together to have our blood mix."
"That sounds...painful."
"It was." He brushes it off, "Anyway, I realized after drinking from Alan and almost biting Annie that I couldn't live that way. I found Mr. Crepsley and he told me I needed to fake my own death in order to live and that I needed to make sure no one knew I was living."
"How did you fake your death?"
"I drank a position and Mr. Crepsley broke my neck and threw me out the window."
"How'd you survive... never mind."
"While Mr. Crepsley was refilling the hole that was left from digging me up I went on a walk and Steve saw me. He apparently already knew of me being alive. I guess he knows I'm a vampire. He swore he would kill me for betraying him."
"How would you betray him?"
"He thinks that Me. Crepsley and I have been working together to taunt Steve about not being able to be a vampire..."
"That's crazy! You would never do that!"
"He doesn't know I tried to save him..."
"I'm sure he will realize in time." She smiles brightly at me.
"Thanks, I really hope so."
"Now I want to know about epic vampire powers!"
I laugh, "It's nothing special just sharper and stronger nails, super strength, speed, and a huge metabolism."
"No fangs?" I ask.
"No fangs."
"What about the blood?"
"We need it in order to survive, but I am not gonna drink blood ever!"
"Won't you die?"
"Yes."
"Then drink you idiot!"
"Not from a human! No way!'
"Fine if you die I won't care."
"Quit lying you'll totally freak if he dies." The familiar voice of the Snake-Boy rings through our ears at the doorway.
"Doubt it, lost all my tears on Darren's first death haha!" Tux jokes.
"I hate you Tux." I play around.
"I hate you too." She says, smiling.
"You guys are such good friends." Evra comments.
"Don't be like that, you're our friend too now." She smiles over at Evra and a small pang of jealousy runs through me... she was rarely ever this happy back at our home town...
As we all lay in our hammocks in near silence a certain Wolf-Girl has to break it with a nerve-wracking question.
"Darren, do you care about Larten?" She ask.
I think for a second before speaking, "No, not in the slightest, he turned me, he made me leave my friends and family. That's unforgivable."
"You're right, that is, but would you betray him?" Evra asks.
"Yes, I even told him I would, I don't know why he would trust me."
There is more silence, I hear a tiny bit of snoring coming from the Snake-Boy's corner and I chuckle.
"Tux..."
"Yeah?" She whispers back.
"I love you."
"Love you too." She yawns, "Goodnight..."
"Goodnight."
