"What is Vampire Mountain anyway?" Darren asks.

"Oh, that's where vampires go for Council." Mr. Crepsley explains.

"I don't know anything about vampires you should probably explain." I say.

"Council is where all the Generals go to meet up."

I learned what Generals are, they are respected. They make sure other vampires don't go evil and make sure vampires don't kill innocent people.

Princes are also a part of vampire beliefs. Princes are even more respected and are very powerful. A princes order can not be ignored unless it is determined against vampire beliefs.

"Oh OK, makes sense." I sigh.

A couple days went by after that.

There were things called Way-Sations. They are just caves with coffins and some bottles of human blood, that's really it.

A lot of the trek was boring and nothing really happened. I missed Nona already, I should have brought her, she would love to come, oh well, to late now, sadly.

"Can't you just flit to the mointain?" I asked one night.

"No, its against what we believe in." Mr. Crepsley answered. "It is against our laws."

"Oh, of course it is." I rolled my eyes.

A couple more nights went by and the climate started to drop and it got super cold, for a while there weren't any trees - or life for that matter - but after that a lot of trees started up again.

The vampires weren't allowed to wear shoes, but I'm no vampire so I can and I am. I often taunted Darren about how I was better than he was and he'd glare at me angrily and tune me out.

They also weren't allowed to wear heavy jackets, I could and did that too.

Now, at present time, we were climbing up this little - yeah little - ledge. At the top was a Way-Station we were gonna stay at.

Mr. Crepsley had to carry up because of my fear of heights. I apologized and thanked him more than enough times for causing such a pain - literally, it must have hurt his back carrying me.

When we finally got in there everything was messed up, the coffins were knocked over and there was bright red blood on the ground near it. The wood from the coffin is scattered everywhere, tiny pieces of the wood ready to stab through someone's foot. Looking at the shelves of the cave I notice the bottles of human blood is untouched and perfectly in shape. Studying the dark - and I mean dark - cave I see a bloody figure laying right next to the pool of blood. Getting sick I quickly turn and try to restrain myself from throwing up everywhere.

"Charna's guts!" Mr. Crepsley yells - that's a weird phrase vampires say.

"What is it?" Darren asks.

"It's vampire blood."

"How do you think this happened?" I ask.

"Maybe a bear?" Darren suggests.

"Yeah right, that would cause much more of a mess of the place than just smashed up coffins." I say.

Darren is standing right at the entrance to the cave.

"You are gonna fall off."

"No I-" a knife appears at Darren's throat. Mr. Crepsley gets into a fighting stance and is ready to dig his long, sharp, fingernails into the figures neck.

"Woah woah woah." The figure says letting go of Darren. "It's me Gavner Purl!"

Mr. Crepsely stops.

"What's up with you and grabbing Darren?" I ask.

"I don't know."

"Why are you here Gavner?" Mr. Crepsley asks.

"I wanted to surprise you, I have been following you for a couple nights now."

"Well you almost gave me a heart attack." Darren says.

I look at the two Little People that are just standing around. I then look away and back at the others.

"Look at this Gavner." Mr. Crepsley orders. The two go and look at the blood and corpse.

I kneel down in front of the Little People.

"Do you think they talk at all?" I ask Darren.

"Doubt it, maybe you shouldn't get so close to them like that." Darren suggests.

"They are only two feet tall, so how much damage could they do?" I ask.

"I thought you said they were strong and could come here without you."

"Well yeah, I don't want to babysit these guys, that sounds mean, I mean, it would be cool, but me being here doesn't make sense to me, I don't know what they are thinking, they don't speak, I just don't understand."

"I guess you're right. I want to know their real names."

"Do they even have names?"

"Who knows?"

"Do you think they can even hear us?"

"Of course, they listen to orders."

"They could maybe read lips."

"Or minds."

Darren and I start laughing.

"Hey!" We hear and stop laughing. "Quit laughing we are going." We turn to see that Mr. Crepsley was talking. I stand and then Gavner, Darren, Mr. Crepsley, the two Little People, and I went off down the ridge - this time Darren carried me down - and go into a copse of trees where the sunlight won't be able to hit the vampires, and waited till day, which was very close.

The vampires slept, leaving me, and I think the Little People.

"How boring..." I mumble.

Boy was I about to quote myself on that.
