~{Y/N}'s POV~

"So he just kissed you?" L asked, looking back at my in shock as he held the refrigerator open with his hands.

"Yeah," I admitted, "That's why I've been so... stressed for the past week."

"What'd Mello do?" Near asked, leaning against the door frame. "Surely he didn't just sit there and watch, right?"

"He grabbed him and told him its 'one on one' for me." I explained, and Near nodded, showing that he understood.

"So? What're you gonna do?" L asked.

"I'm going out with him in like 15 minutes. He should be here any minute."

"He means Mail, {Y/N}." Near droned, and I shrugged.

"I don't know. I'd like to still remain as friends, but Mihael probably won't let that one fly."

L sat down at the dining room table and stole a glance at my cell phone. "Speak of the devil, he texted."

"What does it say?" I asked, taking a chocolate bar from the neat pile on top of the fridge.

"It says, 'I know you're expecting me to pick you up, but my bike is being an ass. Mail's taking it to the shop, so can you meet me downtown? You can bring your brothers if you want, too. I'll take the whole family to lunch.' Damn. He texts with perfect ass grammar and spelling."

"Yeah, so do I." I said. "So? Lunch?"

"I'll go," Near mumbled, and I looked at L expectantly.

"Can't, love. I've got a million things to do."

I pouted but turned to Near with a grin. "Go get changed. Wear casual clothes. Not oversized white pyjamas."

He groaned and headed to the stairs, and I heard the steps creak as he made his way to the upper level.

"You're really taking Nate with you?" L asked.

"Yeah. Near can determine what my next actions should be. And you can't go, so..."

"Okay. Just... be careful."

"...I will be. Don't worry." I mumbled as I heard Near coming back down the stairs.

He stood in the doorway and struck a pose. "How do I look? Don't I just look flawless?" He questioned jokingly.

He was wearing jeans and a white shirt, which actually didn't look bad at all on him. "Not bad, Nate. Not bad at all."

"You two should get going," L said, "I mean, if you wanna meet him for lunch."

"Yes, {Y/N}, I agree. Let's leave." Nate said, grabbing my purse and phone for me and handing them to me, pushing me towards the front door.

"Peace, L!" I exclaimed as I opened the door.

"Bye, guys! Have fun!!" He mumbled, voice monotone.

~TIME SKIP~

"Haa... This would've been a lot easier if we had taken the bus." Near sighed, bending over, trying to catching his breath.
