~Gevanni's POV~

In the morning, after Rester and Halle had left to dispose of Roger's remains, I stayed in bed, contemplating our next movements. After all, it wouldn't be long until someone noticed that Roger was gone.

I looked down at my phone, opening it and squinting at the time.

Noon? Already...?

I groaned and sat up, finally sick of staying in one place. It was time to get to work. Taking over was going to be the easy part, but getting away with it without the kids knowing? Yikes.

"Gevanni!" a voice came from the other side of the door, causing me to jolt in surprise.

"W-who is it?" I yelled back.

"Uh, it's Lawliet. Listen. I just wanna ask you something-!"

I sighed and waited for him to continue.

"There's a girl, and she has no where else to go. Can she stay here?" he asked, and I rolled my eyes, knowing that letting him preoccupy himself with a girl would keep him out of my way. It's not like I had a vendetta against him, it was just that... losing two parental figures in a short span of time can do a number on a person, even if there was a valid reason why one was dead.

"Of course she can," I agreed dismissively, "Don't worry about it, I'll take care of everything, okay?"

"O-okay!!" Lawliet replied cheerfully. I could hear him practically skipping away, probably back to his dorm.

Feeling shittier than I had before, I laid back down, glancing at my phone again. Displayed as my wallpaper was a picture that I'd taken shortly after the Kira case, with a certain boy.

Near... I miss you...

~{Y/N}'s POV~

"...so basically," I said, "You got shot."

"Yep." Near replied, running his hands through his messy, white hair. "But it was planned, I think. A hit against the World's Number One detective isn't uncommon or unexpected, y'know."

"No," Mello sourly said, "We don't know."

Matt giggled and then scoffed, mimicking Mello. "We never got such a luxury."

"Oh, shut up, Matty," I chuckled, elbowing him softly in the ribs.

"Oh, um.." Near began, "Lawliet really worked hard, and I'm glad that you let me train him under me. I really couldn't have had a better successor."

Mello and I looked at each other proudly. That's our boy...

"And," he added, "I'm sorry that I couldn't protect him when I needed to."

I sighed and ruffled Near's hair, causing him to smile. "I know that you did the best that you could, and you did what I would've done - shot the fucker."

At the time, I didn't realize it, but L winced and painfully slipped away, still fragile from his own incident with Light Yagami.

Mello laughed and pointed to Matt, "He's lucky that he didn't have to deal with the two of us, because it would've been a much slower and way more painful death."

"If I hadn't been as angry as I was, it would've been much worse, trust me." Near said. "No one, and I mean no one - messes with my nephew and gets away with it."

"So..." B finally cut in, "The successful second generation is all back together again, huh?"

All back together again...

~Lawliet's POV~

"So?" Myra asked as I waltzed back into the room. "What'd they say?"

"You can stay," I beamed, and she smiled, throwing herself back onto my bed.

"Thank goodness..." she exhaled, looking up at my ceiling. Things were quiet for a moment before she spoke again. "Y'know, I've spent the last three years looking for you."

"Really?" I said, shocked.

"My Mom... growing up, she'd always told me about the three Wammy's House Rejects. I knew that my Dad was Matt, but then she told me about {Y/N} and Mello."

Why would her mom know anything about Mom and-?

"You see, Law, your parents knew my Mom as Matt's girlfriend, and when you were born, my mom was there. She saw you as a baby. She took care of you while the whole thing happened in Japan."

Oh...

"And then Near came and took you away. But at that point, she was already with another child. She was already pregnant with me. And so when I was growing up, she wanted me to know that there was a whole other family that I had never even met that was just... gone."

I looked over at Myra in sympathy, knowing how it felt to have no one but yourself to count on, because everyone else was taken from you. "...I'm sorry..."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes, finally tearing her gaze away from the ceiling. "It's not your fault. Besides, I'd rather get to know you late than not at all. I didn't waste away my life pining for you or anything."

"...but you said that you'd been looking for me...?"

"Well, yes." she agreed, "Three years ago, I kinda ran from home. My mom... I was sick of being isolated, and I just wanted to feel. And the only time I really felt anything was when I was hearing her talk about you. I started looking for the mafia, since it'd be sensible that you'd be claimed as mafia blood. But then I remembered that Near had taken you, so I can here, to England. But I was never able to find the orphanage up until now."

I chuckled a bit under my breath and laid down besides Myra. "Near liked to keep a low profile."

I turned to look into her eyes, and I felt my heart pounding in my chest. "Myra," I said, so quiet that it might as well had been  whisper, "You said you wanted to feel, what do you feel right now?"

She smiled and placed a warm hand on my cheek. "Light... happiness. But most of all..." She leaned forward and gently pressed her lips to mine before pulling away.

"I feel love."
