I locked myself in my room since I had arrived home. I passed out after lunch, was at Oliver's house asleep for a few hours, but I had stormed out of his place around four p.m and got home around four-thirty. My mother was in the shower, so she had no idea that I was home and I wanted a few minutes to myself before I talked to anyone else. I stared up at the ceiling, replaying the moment that he healed me. The way his hazel eyes looked absolutely beautiful..

The feeling of him somehow healing my torn flesh was indescribable. I didn't want to believe it.

I tilted my head to the left to look over my arm, there was no cuts or blood. Instead there was a light purplish bruise on my arm, I could lie and say I had run into a wall. What the hell was I going to do?

There was a knock at the door and I just laid there, not moving or speaking. I heard someone pad into the room, a second later I smelled the familiar sweet perfume that my mom wore. I felt her sit on the bed and she placed her hand on top of my hand and patted it.

"Really long day?.."

I smiled weakly, "Yeah, Mom..A really long day. It was just.. a confusing day.."

"How about you come downstairs and help me make some chocolate chip cookies..?" she said softly.

She squeezed my hand gently and I moved my head to look at her, a smile twitching at my lips, "With tall glasses of milk?"

She nodded and grinned, "Yeah, C'mon.. We won't even save your dad any!"

The next morning it was raining hard, a scary overcast of grey and black clouds loomed over the school. I woke up feeing odd, my entire body felt weighed down, my muscles were sore, so I hadn't dressed for the raining weather. I looked down at my dark jeans, boots and black v-neck which were all soaked. I hadn't even brought an umbrella and I felt a huge wave of remorse. I didn't take the time to pay attention to the weather on the news.

"...Idiot" I muttered to myself, sighing.

"Ooo, you're a kinky little thing aren't you? Call me more names and pull my hair.." laughed Hunter as he appeared alongside me.

I chuckled, a bit taken back that he would joke around on that type of sexual level with me.. Oh, Zane, It was a joke, shut the hell up and focus. Be cool.

"..Zane? Did you?" Hunter asked me, his head tilting to the side in confusion.

"..I'm sorry, what?" I side stepped a girl who was jogging with her umbrella in one hand, phone in the other. The rain was coming down harder now and the breeze was chilly.

He sighed and repeated himself, his words were slower this time, "I said.. You didn't bring an umbrella did you?"

I reached for the campus doors but Hunters hand reached out and pushed mine aside, he tugged the door back and I stood there looking at him, he stood there looking at me with an amused look.

"Are you going to go inside where its warm or.. Stare into my eyes romantically for another ten mintues..?" he asked in a teasing tone.

I scoffed, "I wasn't staring romantically into your eyes, One could never stare too long into the face of a troll-" I watched as his eyebrows went up in surprise, I smirked and continued on, "And what's it look like..? I'm soaking wet aren't I..? Of course I didn't bring an umbrella.." I shook my head and kept walking on, wincing each time the wet bottom of my converse pressed into my sock.

I felt my shoulder being tugged backwards and I glanced down, Hunter pulled me by my messenger bag strap over to the side of the hallway, "Why the f--"

"A troll? Is that the best you can come up with? My feelings are so hurt, Zane.." he paused dramatically and gave me a look of mock sadness "What's crawled up your ass, Zane? It was just a question" he hissed the last few words and his voice was full of attitude.
