I eagerly plopped down in my seat and dropped my tray onto the table as Cassandra sat across from me. "So.. Add details?"

I had met up with Cassandra before a couple of our classes and she had briefly and vaguely filled me in on what happened and I couldn't want to hear the full details.

"A neighbor a couple houses down, who knew my Mother, told her about the party. And Spencer ratted me out to his mother who in return brought up the party to MY mom and then ratted me out." She shook her head in disbelief.

I lowered my eyes and tuned out her talking as I began my complicated thought process. Oliver had told me that Cassandra had been okay, when really she had gotten in huge trouble because there was alcohol and drug use at the party. Atleast she wasn't hurt, so maybe she had gotten away safely.

Suddenly, I saw a hand infront of my face. "Are you even listening to me?"

I nodded.

"So.. it took me a while to convince them that I didn't need to be home schooled. I came back today and went to the office, I had a shit ton of homework from all the unexcused days I 'missed' " she made quotations with her fingers and went on, "I was practically being kidnapped by my own parents, forcing me to enroll in Online schooling."

"I don't think I could survive without you here at school, Cass. Stay out of trouble, will ya?" I said, smiling but completely serious. I was happy that her parents had decided to give her another chance at public school. Besides, Cassandra was sorta the most responsible person I had ever known. There was no reason her parents couldn't trust her, they needed to cut her slack for this one slip up. I was about to voice my opinion, but Cassandra cut me off before I could get a word out.

Her eyes widened and I saw her eyes dart off somewhere behind me.

"Hottie alert. Hottie alert."

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and shortly after Hunters voice filled my ear "Hey, Zane"

Somehow I knew it was him and I tilted my head to look up at his face as he stood behind my chair for a brief moment and then he took a seat beside Cassandra, opposite of me. I smiled at him and nodded, searching his face for any type of discomfort. I noticed that the scratches on his face were completely gone

"Cassandra, Hello" Hunter said as he gave her a lopsided grin.

"Hey, Hunt"

"What're you guys doing?" he glanced between us both, eyebrows raised.

"We're eating, gossiping, this is lunchtime" Cassandra said as she shoved a fry into her mouth.

Hunter glanced at me and caught me staring at him. Cassandra was staring at her phone now, rambling about some girl gossip. Hunter held my stare and his lips spread out in a mischievous grin and it gave me the chills.

"You're silent, something the matter?"

I shook my head in response and looked down at the cold hamburger on my tray. "Are you feeling okay?"

I stared at my hamburger for a few minutes longer waiting for his response, but when he didn't I had to look at his face to see what he was paying attention to.

His posture looked uncomfortably stiff, his lips were pressed into a thin line and his eyes were wide, his face looked panic stricken. I started to turn around to see what Hunter was so fixated on.

"Do not turn around" he hissed at me and he gripped the table, his knuckles completely white.

Cassandra made me even more curious when she stared wide eyed behind me "Woah, who are they?"

I twisted around in my chair and I heard Hunter grunt in frustration as I disobeyed him. I looked over towards the food vendors and there stood two newcomers. A tall, thin girl with blonde hair past her shoulders stood beside an older boy who had dark brown hair and was seemingly muscular looking from what I could see. The blonde was glancing around the cafeteria while the guy piled food items onto two trays.

I turned back to face Hunter who looked extremely tense. "Hunter, Who are they?"

Cassandra turned to look at Hunter who was staring intently at the odd pair. "Zane, after school come over to my place. So, meet me in the library after school"

I frowned in confusion "Why are we going to your house..?"

"Can we get back to the more important question. Who are those two?" Cassandra said quietly as she peeked over her phone.

I glanced at Cassandra and gave her a "Not now" look and then looked back to Hunter, still confused as to why Hunter wanted me over.

"Just meet me in the library" he said before pushing himself up from the table "Come on, I'm going to walk you to class"

I watched as he glanced around and I frowned, looking around for a clock to see when the lunch release bell would ring. As I was about to get my phone out to check the time, the bell rung and echoed through the lunchroom.

"Right on time. Hey, Catch you two later. I'm going to try and find out something about these New kids on the block" She gathered up her belongings and slung her bag over her shoulder.

"Cassandra, That's not a good idea. I'd prefer you stayed away from them" Hunter said sternly from beside me.

"Are you kidding me? Its impossible not to, I'm in the loop of gossip" She said with laughter.

"She's telling the truth. It's like she's in a cult.." I said jokingly, but no one laughed. Instead Hunter turned to look at me. "But uh, Cassandra, you should probably not worry about finding out who they are.."

She shook her head "Alright, weirdos, later" She flashed Hunter and I the peace sign with her fingers and she walked off towards the double door exit.

"You need to talk to her"

I pushed myself up from my chair and gathered my things, before turning to face Hunter. "And say something like what?"

"You need to talk to her, preferably something that will discourage her from talking to them"

After dumping my tray, I turned briefly to glare at him. "What's going on with you?"

He sighed and his shoulders seemed to sag forwards, like he had just run and extremely long marathon. I moved my hand up to touch his face, which was extremely hot, literally and metaphorically speaking.

"A lot is going on, which is why I need you to come to my place tonight" He said softly.

"Alright, I will. But under one condition"

His eyebrows went up "And what would that be?"

"You will answer any question I have about all of this" I moved my hands around in the air.

He seemed to stiffen up and again and then he nodded "See you then" And left.

And that strange feeling came again, a brief feeling of disappointment or emptiness. I couldn't quite pinpoint the feeling, but I hated it and it only came around when Hunter left. I pushed those thoughts aside as I headed to class and thought about tonight instead. Hunter agreed to answer all the questions that I had, this was my chance to get some clarification on things.
