The familiar yet disappointing shrill sound of the alarm sounded, tugging me out of a deep sleep. I had barely been awake five minutes and already I felt tired, but I somehow managed to push myself up in bed, after silencing the alarm. I sighed and stared at the intimidating digital numbers: 5:20 A.M.

Atop the bedside table, my phone buzzed and the screen lit up. I had to squint my crusted eyes from the torturous bright light that temporarily blinded me. The second I saw the six missed calls from Mom one text from Mom, my stomach twisted in knots. No doubt I'd be in deep shit when I went home today after school.

I rubbed at my eyes and yawned, opening the text which read:

Your father and I need to talk to you ASAP, you are to be home immediately after school.

I tossed my phone onto the bed and sighed. I was defiantly in deep shit. But, I would unfortunately have to cross that bridge when I got there..

As I began to undress myself for the shower, flashbacks of Chris's face played in my mind and then Cassandra's after she had been compelled. And then suddenly I thought back to the murder I witnessed and how much had changed since then. How could someone I didn't even know, know so much about me? All I knew of him was his name, Klaus.

I shook the thoughts from my head and tried to enjoy the hot shower that awaited me.

I was surprised to see an outfit had been laid out on the bed for me. A pair of dark blue jeans and a soft red and navy blue button down flannel and tennis shoes. When I stepped closer to admire the fabric I noticed that each of the items still had price tags on them, as if they had just been bought. "Hunter!" I yelled out, hoping he'd hear me.

After a moment I heard Hunters boots coming down the hallway and they were rushed, he paused in front of my door before bursting in. "What the hells the matter?"

"Did you just buy these?" I asked with curiosity while holding up the flannel for him to see. "Where did you get these clothes?"

He rolled his eyes and snorted. "We don't have time for that. You need to get dressed, Look at the time" He said gesturing towards the clock on the nightstand.

I followed his finger and my eyes landed on the clock, 6:30 A.M

"So what? We've got time.." I said, shaking out my wet hair.

Hunter's eyes looked me over and I looked down to note my attire, which consisted of a white towel that hung snuggly off my hips.

"We've got somewhere to stop before we head off to school, So hurry the hell up" And with that, he turned and left, closing the door behind him.

As we pulled away from Hunter's home, I couldn't help but smile at how he always opened and closed my door for me each time we got inside or out of his truck. I glanced over to look at him and took notice that he was looking beyond handsome in a dark dark grey leather type jacket with a white T-shirt beneath and dark jeans and his usual buckled boots. He glanced over at me and caught me staring.

"Where are we going?" I blurted.

Hunters eyes looked me over, from head to toe and then he moved his eyes back onto the road. One hand firmly on the wheel he guided his truck through traffic, the signature smirk ever present on his lips. "If you see Klaus's minions today at school, go the other way. Now, I've got your scent practically embedded in my brain.." he stopped short and gasped as if he had said too much.

"My scent..?"

He gave the truck some gas as if he were aggravated "That's how I knew where you were.."
