"I'm going to go talk to Ben, alright?" Cassandra said as she patted me on the shoulder.

I shot her a frantic look, not wanting to be left alone because then Hunter would approach me and that was the last damn thing I wanted. But I couldn't tell Cassandra why I needed to avoid Hunter without sounding weird. I mean I was upset with him because he acted cold towards me when he could've just told me what was wrong and the way he had such an attitude. But, none of that mattered now because Cassandra was leaving.

"Right. Oh, okay. Good luck then!" I said, waving her off awkwardly. I snuck a glance over towards where I last saw Hunter standing but he wasn't there. I frowned and turned slightly off to the side, looking around for where he had disappeared to. And then I spotted him standing near a group of people, he was close to a shorter but older looking guy that was probably in college. I watched as Hunter leaned down and whispered something into the mans ear and the man chuckled and touched Hunters arm.

I glared in partial disbelief. He was such a player.. It pissed me off. He reminded me of Oliver. Who had slept with multiple men and probably women too, including a couple of the married coaches and a few of the new science teachers. How could someone be such a whore..? Is the want for that person really that intense that you forget about the consequences? I didn't get it. But, I wasn't going to wait around for Hunter to approach me, if he wants to ignore me then that's fine with me.

I had been at the kick back for atleast twenty minutes and people were starting to clear out of the backyard. Many made their way inside, eating up whatever snacks that were left behind and making their way to their cars. The music was still going and I glanced over towards the direction Hunter was in. He was still talking to the same older guy from Earlier only now they were sitting on the same chair, knees touching. The guys hand went to touch Hunters back multiple times and they seemed to be having a good laugh.

"I've been going to the art center since I was a kid.." the lean man with short blonde hair and brown eyes asked. He was a friend of Ben, the guy that Cassandra was drooling over earlier. His name was Mackenzie. Although he was handsome, I couldn't concentrate at all on our current conversation. "And then by the time I moved here -- "

"I'm sorry. Can you excuse me for one moment?" I smiled politely at Mackenzie who nodded eagerly. I headed straight towards Hunter and his stupid College boy who was now playing with Hunters hair

I walked up and stood there stiffly. "Excuse me, can I have a moment with you, Hunter?"

He looked up at me like it was his first time seeing me here, he looked surprised "Hey, Zane. I didn't know you were attending Cassandra's kick back.."

I gave a fake smile, "Can we talk?"

"Well, I'm busy..chatting with my friend Jeremy here" he gestured towards the man sitting next to him. Hunters eyes crinkled at the corners, he had a smug expression on his face.

"Oh, I don't mind, seems important, babe.." Jeremiah said and he nodded.

I gave a fake smile to Jeremiah and turned, walking off towards the side of the house. Hunter was on my heels and as I turned to face him he was already talking.

"Why the hell did you do that?!"

"What do you mean why the hell did I do that? Why the hell did you ignore me all tonight at the kick back pretty party?" I shot back, thoroughly annoyed.

"I wasn't ignoring you. I was talking with my friend Jeremiah. And..kick back pre party? Don't call it that"

"Okay, one. Don't tell me what I can and cannot call things. Two, you were ignoring me. You had to have seen me when you got here." I hissed at him.
