S/N; I'm getting slightly discouraged. I'm starting to think this story is a bust. Its not getting many reads and I'm starting to wonder if all aspiring writers feel this way at some point. But, I'll continue to update anyways, just in case! I'm thankful for the readers that did check out my story. Please comment and let me know what you think so far!c:

"You're hired!" said the manager of Java Jam.

This is it, I'm approved. I've officially gotten my first job. I smiled and extended my hand out towards my new manager, Mr. Penolli.

"Now with you still being in school, you'll work on Wednesdays, Thursday's after school. And then on Sunday from morning to noon." he said and he handed me a thick manilla folder "Inside are your work hours and other details regarding the job, so look them over, if you have any questions or concerns, just give me a call. Okay?"

I nodded and showed off my most confident grin and I extended my arm out to shake his hand firmly and turned to leave his office. I said my Goodbyes to the already working staff as I walked behind the counter and got a few friendly nods from them. I did notice there was a cute guy, he was tall, lean and had a set of beautiful grey eyes and had black hair, a messy haircut, his jet black fringe rested right above his grey pair of eyes and he had full lips and dimples..And I only knew this because on my way out to say goodbye to the workers I was introduced to Earlier, I stopped in my tracks because my eyes were caught on this guy and his on me. His hard gaze seemed to hold me and I was literally glued to my spot. A girl with beautifully dyed dark red hair standing nearby, cleared her throat loudly and that broke my concentration, not his. He didn't even flinch and at that moment I wasn't sure if I should be creeped out or flattered.

"Hunter.." the girl said and she turned her head to look at the boy with the grey eyes "Hunter!" she said in a harsh tone and he threw his towel down and disappeared somewhere into the back stock room.

She turned to me and gave a genuine smile "He's a weirdo. We all are. Get used to working with us." she laughed nervously but lightly.

I smiled back at her and nodded looking in the direction of where Hunter had disappeared and glanced towards the door "I'd better get going, see you soon."

As I walked out of Java jam a confusion cloud followed me and I walked a few cars until I spotted my moms SUV and I hopped in, setting my messenger bag in my lap.

She looked at me expectantly and shifted out of park "So how did it go?"

I nodded and kept my eyes on the street ahead of us "I did, yes. I'm going to look over my work schedule at home, I'm pretty happy about it.." I watched as she nodded in approval and she started to speed up and I saw her glance at me a couple times out of my peripheral vision.

I sighed before deciding to speak "Mom, what is it..?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out and eat..?" She glanced over at me and I knew she was trying to have a mini celebratory party for me getting a job and in the process sugar coating the fact that my father wasn't there.

"Panda express sounds great right now" I shrugged figuring I might as well take up this pitiful chance.

She nodded "Panda express it is."

The rest of the weekend flew by fast and before I knew it, I was getting ready to go to bed early for school tomorrow. I had just finished reading over my work hours and I was pleasantly surprised. Wednesday's and Thursdays, I worked 4:30 p.m - 8:00 p.m and on Sundays 9:00 a.m - 7:00 p.m. I peeled back my covers and tried to get comfortable, thinking about my work schedule, the boy with the grey eyes and my first new job, to rid my thoughts of going for a walk. I closed my eyes and fell asleep shortly after.
