Compel.

"What the hell did he mean humans? What were those things?" Cassandra said, pacing back and forth across Hunter's living room floor.

I watched her in worry, I felt bad because she didn't know a thing about what was going on. At this point I wasn't at all comfortable with completly spilling the beans by telling her that something almost supernatural was somehow intertwined with the whole ordeal. Besides , I didn't even know where to  begin explaining. It was apparent that Hunter didn't feel comfortable telling her either.

So I kept my mouth shut. Answering her questions with awkward silences and sighs, hoping to buy some time.

Hunter walked past me only stopping briefly to glance at me and bark a question at me "How much longer before her mother comes to get her?"

I glared at him "I don't know, Hunter. But how did you know I was there?"

"Why are you worried about how long it's going to be before my mom gets here.. Are you guys trying to get rid of me? I'm just really confused.." Cass said, her pacing fit had come to a sudden stop.

Suddenly Hunters face appeared before mine, the look in his eyes serious and he had a "I'm not taking Bullshit from anybody" vibe. "Do you trust me?"

I blinked.

He rolled his eyes "Well do you?"

"Uh.. Yeah, I - I mean I guess.."

He stared at me for a few minutes longer, jaw as tight as ever.

Then he turned to look away from me, over to Cassandra instead. "Come here will ya?"

Cassandra hesitantly went to Hunter, a look of confusion on her face.

I watched as Hunter waited for Cassandra to get closer and then closer. When she was within reach, he placed his hand on her shoulder and he stared intently into her eyes. "Tonight never happened..After you left school you called your mom to tell her that you were going to Java Jam to hang out with Zane. After Zane got off work his friend Hunter came along to hang out as well."

Cassandra's eyes seemed to go blank and then refocus. "Tonight was really fun! It was nice meeting you Hunter. I'm going outside to wait for my mom!"

Cassandra turned to smile and flash the peace sign before heading out the door.

"What the hell did you do to her?" I said staring blankly at the spot where she was standing before and then I followed after her. As I headed towards the door, Hunter stepped in front of me.

"I did what I had to do" He murmured.

I glared at him in annoyance because he was trying to play that 'inoccent' bullshit.

"How did you know where I was gonna be?"

Outside, someone honked their horn.

I made it outside just in time to see Cassandra waving from the passenger window of her moms minivan. "Bye guys!"

"Wait!" I shouted. "Call or text me later..or something!"

I sighed and watched as the minivan pulled off from the curb.

"Get back inside. It's a bit cold out and you aren't properly dressed" he called out to me from the front door.

As I walked past him, I flipped him the bird "Okay, Dad"

"When I don't answer your questions and give you what you  want, you get feisty. And I can't help but find that sexy"

He slammed the door behind us.
