Paybacks a BEEP (Chapter 17)

*Mononoke's P.O.V*

Yeah, me and Sakura finished our training on the first day so today Kakashi assigned us (well mostly me since Sakura STILL doesn't do anything. I mean I haven't even seen her use Taijutsu yet) to guard Tazuna at the bridge. I got tired of just sitting around and started to help carry railing for the bridge around. Sakura didn't do anything and she was just sitting on a pile of rails, yawning. Then Tazuna noticed as he walks by.

"You always this lazy?" Tazuna asked Sakura, I decided to act like I wasn't listening and just followed Tazuna to where he wanted me to carry the rail I had.

"Where is that weird blonde kid and the one with the attitude?"

Dang Tazuna got Naruto and Sasuke all figured out already. He got their personalities right on the nail.

"There training, climbing trees." Sakura replied bluntly.

"To tough for you?"

"No in fact I am the best. That is why the sensei sent me here to guard you." she replied as cocky as can be.

She completely ignored the fact that I was right there and that I was sent to do the same job as her. Plus I did better at training AND in real fights then she did. Is Sakura trying to make me like her less?

"Your joking, I can believe he would send this weird black haired girl but you..."

Dang he completely insulted Sakura and complemented me while also insulting me a little, but I am not about to deny it, I am weird sometimes. Sakura got mad that Tazuna thought she was weak, but until she proves she isn't, she can't complain.

Well anyway I got the rail to where Tazuna wanted me to take it and when I looked over my shoulder to see what else I could do, some guy about Tazuna's age came over and said that he wanted to quit. He said that Gato and his thugs will show up eventually and kill Tazuna and the bridge will never get finished anyway.

He continued saying stuff like they should quit before they end up dying anyway. Well the way I see it is that if they don't build this bridge they are dead anyway, everyone has little money, so a lot of people will eventually starve and then they will die.

Tazuna started to get mad and said that this wasn't just a bridge they were building; they were building trade and hope. That if they didn't their island would stay poor until this bridge was finished. The guy simply replied with there won't be much hope if all of us are dead.

After that Tazuna got mad again and told him that we should break for lunch and he told that guy that he shouldn't come back after lunch. It was sad that that guy was so scared to help Tazuna, after all this is pretty much the only thing they can do to get rid of Gato completely and he doesn't even want to try.

I went ahead and started to walk off somewhere but I didn't get far until a certain Haruno stopped me.

"And where are you going Mononoke?"

"Well it is lunch, so I was going to go get the guys from the forest and see if they were going to come and eat."

"What about guarding Tazuna?"

"Well you did say you were the best Sakura, I am sure you can handle it then."

Before she could say anything else I started to walk off again. I could see she was a little scared to be guarding Tazuna on her own but I am pretty sure that they'll be alright.

*Time Skip*

Ok I lied about going to go see the guys and ended up going back to Tazuna's house and taking a nap instead of eating lunch. I woke up just in time and went back to the bridge to help build it again.

After a little while it started to get late and all the workers at the bridge were dismissed for the day. Tazuna and Sakura went to the market to get some food for dinner, and I decided I would REALLY go see what the guys were up to this time.

*Time Skip*

Hey guess what I saw...Clucky and....the log, but seriously, I walking into the clearing to see that Naruto was building up chakra in his feet and...he actually got a good steady flow in his feet. My face actually started to hurt a little at how big I was smiling for him, and I just know my eyes got huge. I thought he was going to go all the way up when he ran at the tree until...

"Hey Naruto!!!!" Yeah Sasuke just had to ruin his concentrating with that.

"UG SASUKE!!!" Naruto actually fell for some reason when Sasuke talked to him and now he was kinda mad.

"Well uh..you know...the thing is..." Sasuke trailed off with his words after that, and I started to get a mischievous smile. He was about to ask Naruto something and Naruto now has Sasuke in the palm of his hand. Naruto is just going to mess him up so much.

"The thing is what?" Naruto replied mad and crossed his arms still sounding mad. Sasuke started to look down at the ground while 1 of his eyes started to twitch. Yeah I was right.

"You...ya know...you asked Mononoke and Sakura for advice when they were here........so what did they tell you?"

Naruto finally got the idea and got probably a bigger mischievous smile then I did.

"I'm not tell'in you." Naruto flat out said.

Wow it was hilarious how he did that then Sasuke's face was just priceless.

I started to bust out laughing at the 2 of them and they FINALLY noticed that I was standing right behind them. You can guess what I did next. I ran up to Naurto and gave him a high-5.

"That was awesome Naurto, absolutely great, I just wish a I had a camera or something."

He started to laugh along with me, and I knew this was making Sasuke mad, but he just scoffed whatever and started to train again. I know he felt embarrassed whether he would admit it or not, and I, whether he knew it or not, not only did he ask Naruto for his help but he kinda asked for mine, since he asked Naruto for my advice, even though it wasn't worth much.

*Time Skip*

After a little while I was able to convince the guys to come back to Tazuna's house with me so we could have dinner. They didn't have lunch so I told them that since they didn't have any food, they didn't have much energy so they were probably weaker the usual, which is probably why they were stuffing their faces right now. They were eating like it was a race.

Then bother jumped up and asked for more food like it was a contest and at the same time the started glaring at each other. You could see the sparks flying between them. They were holding their bowls in the air for a minute before they had to sit back in their seats and started to throw up.

"Ok that is just to gross, I'm out."

I got out of there as quick as I could, I hate the smell of puke and I am not about to be around it for one minute. No one stopped me and no one blamed me for wanting to leave.

I ended up walking all the way back to the place we were training and around the time I left the house I could sense someone was following me. That's when I made a clone to watch my back as I walked. Whoever it is I will find out why they are.

*?'s P.O.V*

I followed the small dark haired kunoichi to her destination. As much as I really didn't want to do this I had no choice, plus it is really strange to be following a girl around at night.

She unknowing led me to the ground where she once trained and stopped dead in the middle of the grounds and looked at the scars the trees had. I was just about to approach her when...something literally kicked my butt and sent me flying in the air and I landed right at her feet on my back.

I looked up at her face to see she was staring at me curiously with her eyes that almost mimicked the color of hunny, while she had her hands on her hips.

"Yo Sasuke, whatch'ya doin'?"
