The Princess and The Peasant ~ Lapidot

Chapter 6: Breakfast

Once Peridot had finished bathing and got fully dressed she knocked on the princess door. Peridot was wearing nothing special, just her ordinary black and green clothes.

"Come in!" Called the blue gem. When Peridot opened the door, she saw Lapis wearing a blue dress which matches her blue skin and hair perfectly. She was also wearing a pretty bow on her back.

She looks so beautiful... Wait beautiful? Thought Peridot, the green gem suddenly went silent.

Lapis coughed. "Oh uhm... You l-look nice, Princess." Peridot blushed, acknowledging the fact that she'd been staring at the Princess.

"Aww thanks, now lets have breakfast I'm hungryyyyy!" Moaned the Princess.

Lapis and Peridot made their way to the dinner hall. While walking down the stairs, Peridot couldn't help but look at the princess.

Stop staring. Wait. Why am I staring? Stop this nonsense!

"Uh Peri you okay there?" Peridot turned her head away from the Princess and gave her a nod, not wanting to speak, even though she wanted to tell the princess to never call her Peri again.

When the two arrived at the dinner table, the queen, Blue Diamond, was already there, so was Blue Pearl and Sapphire. Blue Diamond was sat at the top of the table, while Sapphire and Blue Pearl sat on the right of the table. Leaving two empty seats for Peridot and Lapis. But an empty seat was left for the king... Where ever he is...

Peridot being the goofball she is, didn't pull out a chair for the princess like a mannered person would. Lapis angrily mumbled some words and sat down. What's up with her? Thought the green gem.

"So Peridot.. Tell me about yourself." Curiously said the Blue Diamond. Peridot whipped her head to look at The Queen. The green gem gulped and gripped the table cloth in her trembling hands.

"...Well I'm from the homelands.. And they were actually going to shatter me, so i ran away..."

"Interesting." Blue Diamond eyed Peridot, even though she had a cape over her head, Peridot could physically feel Blue Diamonds stare. It's as if she knew something that Peridot didn't.

After a while of chitchat, the food came in, full plates and drinks filled the table. Peridot eyed the food. She hadn't eaten in awhile, she stopped her self from digging in straight away, she didn't want to look like a pig especially infront of the queen.

"So uh mom, where's dad?" Asked a curious Lapis.

"He's out on a business trip." Replied Blue Diamond while cutting up chunks of her food.

"Where too?"

"Another planet." Blue Diamond quietly put a peice of food in her mouth and slowly began to chew it.

"Aww cool how come I can't join him?" Lapis looked up at her mother excitedly.

"Because you are forbidden to leave the castle." Said Blue Dimond while quietly chewing her food. Lapis on the other hand crossed her arms and sank in her chair. Peridot was extremely nervous and ate slowly. Also trying to savour the taste.

This is so awkward... Thought Peridot, Blue Pearl and Sapphire.
