About two weeks later a ball was held for the bravery of the Princess. Strangely Yellow Diamond hasn't attacked or threatened the Dark Lands since that day. Blue Diamond however knew her sister was up to something.
"You excited for the ball tonight Peri?" The Princess stood infront of her mirror holding up two beautiful dresses. Peridot sat on Lapis bed bored out of her mind.
"To be honest Lapis... No, i hate balls." Lapis let out a laugh, while the other gem began to blush. "N-no i didn't mean b-balls as in... You know what i mean." Peridot crossed her arms angrily feeling flustered.
"Aw Peri stop being cute and help me pick out a dress for tonight." Lapis turned around to face the Princess holding up the dresses.
"Uhm..." Peridot liked the one Lapis was holding in her right hand the best. It was blue and white, the one they picked out in town a few weeks ago.
"...That one." The green gem pointed at her favourite dress.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Lapis spoke while putting the other dress away.
Just like you... Thought Peridot.
"So what are you wearing tonight?"
"Uhm... These?" Peridot pointed at her clothes. The ones she's been wearing ever since she arrived at the Dark Lands.
"What?! You can't possibly be serious!" Lapis laughed a little but stopped when she realised her friend wasn't joking around. "Uhm... I think i might have a dress for you, let me check."
Peridot was about to protest against wearing a dress but didn't, she didn't want to hurt her friends feelings, so she acted okay with the idea. When Lapis was finished looking for the dress, she held a green and black dress with sparkles on it.
Peridot made a disgust face but tried to hide it. "Um... It's nice...?"
"Was that a question?" The princess raised an eyebrow at Peridots behaviour.
"...No...?"
"Okay... I for one will think this dress will look pretty on you, not that you don't look pretty now, i think you look pretty all the time and.... Oh glob im rambling..." Peridots heart skipped a beat while Lapis' heart was beating quite fast.
"You... Think I'm pretty?" Asked the green gem.
"Y-yeah." Lapis put the dresses down and sat next to her green friend. The princess turned to face her friend. Their faces just inches apart. If only one would lean then....
*knock, knock*
"The ball is in 2 hours best get ready now." Blue Pearls voice was heard, followed by footsteps as she left.
"Best get ready huh?" Lapis nudged her friend before getting up.
"Yeah..."
*Timeskip to An hour before the ball*
Peridot left the castle. She was nervous but she had a plan. Tbe green gem was going to buy the Princess the blue necklace that they saw in town a few weeks back.
The green gem let out a wary sign. I hope I have enough money... Peridot opened up her hand which revealed all the money she had. She had the money from Yellow Diamond when she was living in Homeland. Peridot walked down the street and saw the jewellery tent. Her lips curved up into a nervous smile.
"Can I help you ma'am?"
"Y-yes I would like to buy t-that necklace..." Peridot pointed to the blue necklace on the stand. She placed her money on table and let out a nervous breath. The women behind the counter began to count the money as the Green Gem nervously tapped her fingers on the table and bit ber lip.
