The Princess stood in her room, she felt as if she had wasps in her stomach. The Blue gem let go of a deep breath she'd been keeping in. Today's the day that Yellow Diamond was coming for war.
"You ready for this Peri?" The Princess looked over at the girl sitting on her bed.
"As ready as I'll ever be..." She said with trembling hands.
A knock was heard upon the door and the queen shortly entered Lapis' room.
"Lapis, I came to tell you that you will definitely not be fighting in the war." Lapis let out an "aww" as Peridot literally screamed with happiness. "I have arranged for some sort of transportation to take you both, (and Blue Pearl), to the Crystal lands were Amethyst and Steven will welcome you."
"What about Pearl and Garnet?" Asked Peridot nervously.
"They are fighting in the war, while Amethyst looks after Steven."
"What about Sapphire?" Asked Lapis.
"Sapphire will not be fighting but Ruby sadly is. I just hope no one gets shattered." Peridot looked over at Lapis and the two made eye contact. "Well i got to go, you'll be sent for within about 2 hours. Remember sweetie mother loves you." She kissed Lapis on the forehead and gave Peridot a hug. "If anything happens to me, promise me you'll be there for my baby girl." She whispered into the green gems ear and slowly backed away. Peridot blushed and let out a nervous laugh.
*2 hours later*
"Come on we're going to be late." Nagged the green gem.
"Okay, okay, calm I'm here." Lapis stepped out of her room with a turquoise back pack. It appeared to be loaded with snacks, water, her game boy, some books and other needs. The two walked down the stairs in silence. Neither knowing what to say. Both not knowing what the future had instore for them. When they both reached the bottom step the Princess stepped forward to open the door. When the door was open, they noticed Blue Pearl was waiting outside for them. Blue Pearl turned around to greet them.
"Mother will not be saying Goodbye for she has to prepare for battle." A tear escaped Blue Pearls eye and Lapis walked over to hold her sister. After about 3 minutes of sobbing a carriage pulled up infront of the gates of the castle.
"Transport's here, let's go." The trio walked forward guarded by guards for protection. The war was taking place just outside of town but there were still fights in town and around the outskirts.
They got into the carriage, it had seats attrached from the wall and the 5 of them began to sit down. (Two guards). The man infront whipped his horse and the carriage fled down the road. It was so fast Peri had to hold onto Lapis for steadiness, which in return made the Princess giggle. Blue Pearl on the other hand was awfully quiet throughout the ride.
Suddenly the carriage began to swerve and it crashed into a tree. A shriek from the horse was heard before the crash.
"Ow! Is everyone okay?" Asked a guard and everyone nodded in return. Peridot had fallen on the floor, while the others hung onto the seats. Lapis helped her crush back up as they left the carriage.
"What happened?" Asked the other guard.
"It seems the horse had gotten shot and caused the carriage to crash... You'll have to walk..." The guards nodded and escorted the royals, (and Peridot), away from the carriage, into the direction of the crystal lands. It was very dangerous for them to out walking while a war was going on.
Peridot was freaking out she could feel someone watching them. Watching her. Watching Lapis. Peridots eyes darted from left to right and then she saw it. A man hiding in the bushes with a bow and arrow.
Shit... Here goes nothing...
(A/N: Hahahaha I'm so evil. See ya'll in the next chapter. *smiles evily*)
