"Lapis, this is Steven Quartz Universe."

Today was the day that the Queen arranged for her daughter: Lapis, to meet her suitor. Lapis didn't seem all that up for it as usual. Lapis stood still, arms crossed and silent. They were in the ball room in the Castle. Blue Dimond was introducing the Prince to Lapis but the princess did everything to ignore them both. Peridot on the other hand was told to stay in Lapis' room until her 'date' was over. Peridot sat on Lapis bed, humming a tune she made up. Back to the Princess, Lapis and Steven stood in silence.

"I'll leave you two alone, I have important things to do." Said Blue Dimond walking out of the room probably to go to her study. Lapis stayed quiet and eyed her suitor.

"Listen Lapis, I'm not like other Princes and to be honest I think we should just hang out as friends." Steven broke the silence and held out his hand for the blue gem to shake it. Lapis looked over at the Prince opposite her. He wasn't nervous or trying to flirt with her. Maybe i can trust him... Steven let his arm fall to his side knowing that the Princess wasn't going to shake it.

"Listen I hate these suitor things as much as you probably do, and if it was up to me I'd be home right now with my two sisters and best friend. But I'm not and you seem like a nice person to hang with so, what do you say? Friends?" The Prince held his hand for the second time. The blue gem hesitated at first. "Okay, friends it is." The two shook hands for a short period of time and stood in an awkward silence.

"So what do you want to do now?" Lapis was bored again and let out a yawn.

"How about we go to the beach? We can be beach summer fun buddies." Steven smiled.

Lapis paused for a moment only now noticing their hight difference. Steven's probably 15 and I'm 18 I can't marry him...Is that even legal?

"I'm sorry but mother- i mean Blue Dimond won't let me." The two began to walk to the stairs just outside the ballroom.

"How about we go in the Garden?" Steven asked while the two sat down at the bottom of the stairs.

"Wait... This place has a garden?" Lapis was confused. If this place had a garden she would of known about it.. Right?

"Yeah? Didn't you know what, you live here after all..." Steven said awkwardly.
Lapis felt silly. The castle had a garden and she hadn't even realised it.

"Let me ask the Queen."

Peridot decided she'd look around Lapis' room.

Okay let's see here... Locked. Locked. Locked.. Open! No wait it's locked.

Peridot walked around the Princess room bored. She was looking for something, anything even, to solve her boredom. The curious green gem was currently trying to open drawers and
Boxes that the Princess contained. Peridot had been curious for a while about these things but only had the chance to explore them now. But there was no use since everything was locked.

"Ugh stupid locks, where does she even keep the keys?"

"Trying to read the Princess' diary?" A soft and quiet was heard by the entrance of the room.

"Huh? Oh it's just you..." Peridot let go of the lock on the drawer and let her arms fall by the side of her.

"You know Peridot..." Blue Pearl came closer to the green gem and circled around her once. Peridot began to feel quite uncomfortableand began to sweat alittle.

"Uhm... Yeah?" Blue Pearl stopped and eyed Peridot up and down before speaking.

"My sister is super into you." Peridot froze and blushed light green.

Lapis... Likes me?

Blue Pearl laughed a little. "She talks about you all the time when you're not around, and I've never seen my sister this happy in a while." Peridot's blush got greener. Peridot wanted to speak, she wanted to tell Blue Pearl to leave her alone but she couldn't say anything as if something had bit her tounge.

"Don't look now Peridot, but it looks like you may have some competition." Blue Pearl left the room and closed the door. Leaving the green outsider in a bashful, confused state.

Competition? I need to clear my head... Fresh air will do.

Peridot walked over to the glass door and opened it, stepping outside onto the balcony. The air was fresh and warm which tingled upon the green gems form. Peridot inhaled a deep breath and let it go. Admiring the moment until she noticed two people sitting outside on a bench...

"So I said, to see a butter-fly!" Lapis laughed at the Princes horrible joke. Steven was talking about the time when he told his sister a joke and she didn't take it so well.

"So wait, you have three sisters?"

"Uhm two, my best friend Amethyst is like a sister but we're not related... She's my best friend though and just between you and me I think she has a crush on my sister Pearl." Steven winked at Lapis and she let out a giggle.

Lapis was enjoying this. She was actually outside. The garden is in fact huge and she could do so much things. Even though most of the area was covered in flower beds and a huge fountain in the centre, there was still so much space to run around. Lapis hadn't realised it but surrounding the garden stood a huge wall. Lapis hadn't escaped over a wall like this but she wasn't planning onto either.

"Thanks Steven." Lapis closed her eyes and leaned back on the bench.

"For what?"

"For making me happy, and for helping me open my eyes." Lapis turned to Steven with arms spread out.

Steven was confused but either way they hugged for a couple of seconds but were soon were called inside by Sapphire because Steven had to go home.

Both were unaware of a jealous green gem watching above them.
