"What makes her believe that we can stop Yellow Diamond?" Lapis began to tear up, she was really stressed out.
Our species will die? What does she mean? Will Yellow Diamond kill us all? Oh this is useless!
"No offence to anyone but we aren't going to stop her... I mean look at us. A Pearl, an amethyst, a Garnet, a Sapphire, a Ruby, a Steven, a Peridot and a flightless Lapis Lauzli."
Peridot frowned. Lapis had given up on them. On herself. The other gems were in a different room. Lapis needed some time to think and Peridot insisted on joining her in Roses study.
"Lapis... Please have faith in us. We may look like tools but... They all have a power, a weapon." Lapis frowned.
"You don't." Said Lapis blankly as if it didn't mean anything. This took Peridot by surprise. Sure Lapis knew that Peridot couldn't summon her weapon but what she didn't know was that this was the reason why Peridot hated herself. A wet and cold tear escaped Peridots eye. Lapis turned her attention on the green gem across from her.
"Oh Peridot..." She breathed softly. "I'm sorry I didn't mean..." Lapis got interrupted by an angry gem.
"Y-you don't understand! I'm defective okay?! I can't summon my weapon! I'm useless without my limb enchantments and my log! Everyone in Homeland wants me dead and there's going to be a war because of me! I'd help and fight but I can't... I'm just a Peridot... I'm useless on my own..." By now Peridots cheeks were dripping with tears. All Lapis could do was stare. She wanted to argue back but didn't have the guts too. Instead she moved closer to the green gem and hugged her.
"I understand." She whispered in the green girls ear. Peridot remembered that Lapis had her wing ability taken away from her. She felt stupid. This whole thing seemed stupid. The war seemed stupid.
"Don't worry Peri. You are not what you think you are. I think you're pretty great..."
The two stood in silence. Still embraced in eachothers arms. Tears slowly coming to an end.
