It had been three months since Rey and I had started our training with Luke. We had learned very quickly over time, and now we're almost masters of our lightsaber a and the force. Not to say that we were perfect, or even close. Just good enough to go on a mission if need be.Rey,Poe, Finn and I sat in the cafeteria eating lunch. We had our final test for pilot's school in an hour, and we hope that eating some of the local fruit would give us some much needed (in Finn's case) luck.
"Finn, I'm sure that you'll pass! It's really no big deal!" Rey said as Finn continued to fidget.
"I know! I mean I do perfectly fine during the simulations and in real life, it's just that I get nervous around professors." He responded.
"Even if you fail no one is ever going to stop you from flying. You are obviously good enough to crash on Jakku, what else could anyone want from a pilot!" I laughed while picking apart my square yellow fruit.
"This is one of the weirdest fruits that I have ever had! I mean it tastes just like cheesecake!" Poe said enthusiasticly, completely ignoring the conversation.
I checked my watch to find that we still had a while until class started. "Let's do something before we have to face the harsh reality of life. And our grades."
"Ok, what should we do?" Finn asked.
"Let's go rock climbing! We haven't gone in awhile." Poe said.
We all murmured out agreement and picked up the remainder of our food. The grey table that we had been sitting at was quickly filled with older members of the resistance. Just as we began to make our way through the cafeteria to the exit Rey's commlink buzzed.
She pulled it from one of her belt loops and answered with a hello. As she listens I see some of the color leave her face. "Ok, we'll be right there. See you soon."
"That was my Dad. He says that we are needed in the briefing room right now. It's our first mission."
