The four tributes from District 3 and District 7 slowly made their way through the trees.
What stood before them wasn't what they were prepared to see. It looked like...a broken city. Buildings were leaning sideways and shattered glass was scattered everywhere...
The windows were broken and cracked, the sharp tips reflecting the articial sunlight. The inside of the buildings were dark and hollow.
The tributes clambered up the piles of rubble. It seemed as if something had blasted this place apart, like an atomic bomb.
"We should make a safe camp in here," Leonardo said, looking around. He crawled into the dark building.
"Something about this place seems...off," Sarina commented. She shrugged, going in after the leader. Destiny nodded in agreement.
The group settled down on a wall near the broken window, where a little light was shining in. They put down the supplies thay they had gathered, opening the little bags up.
There were canisters of water, some food, some rope, and a...blow dart?
"What are we supposed to do with this?" Destiny questioned, holding it up.
"You use it it to snipe at people. You see someone from a far distance, you stick the blow dart in a tube, then you blow through the tube so it flies through the air and hits someone. Then, they die," Donatello explained.
"Oh. Thanks," the wolf-raven replied.
Suddenly, Destiny froze, her tail spiked and her ears perked.
The others' eyes widened in alarm.
"What is it?" Leonardo asked.
"We're...we're not alone..." she whispered.
Donatello and Sarina looked around, scanning the area. The four stayed completely quiet, and a faint snarling noise could be heard. Destiny squinted at the darkness. Her tail spiked even more than it could.
"MUTTS!" she screamed, grabbing Leonardo and Donatello, scrambling out of the building.
"Come on, let's move!" Leonardo yelled.
Five black dogs--no, wolves, burst out of the building after them, growling roaring. They had the eyes of the five fallen tributes. One of them had the baby blue eyes of Michelangelo, but now, they were hardened in anger.
Three other wolf mutts had blue eyes as well, but they were in different shades of the color. Donatello recognized the eyes of Ashton, Sky, and Chase.
The last mutt had Wesley's light brown eyes, but it also had a pair of antlers perched on his head. Wesley was never a mutant that was mean or angry, but in the mutt's eyes, it was filled with more hatred than you could imagine.
The group of four weaved in, out, and around every building, but the wolf mutts were at their heels. They clambered out of the building's window hurriedly, ignoring the constant scrapes and cuts that the broken glass gave them.
A scream was let loose from Sarina when she was about to jump out of the building, but a mutt had snapped up her right foot.
"Sarina!" Donatello screeched, running back to the cyborg, but it was too late. A loud crunch was heard when the mutts began chomping the flesh and the metal parts up, devouring the body as blood spilled out. The turtle's eyes welled up with tears, looking back at his District partner for the last time before being led away by Destiny and Leonardo.
The cyborg's blue eyes flashed once more, before powering off and shutting down. The cannon boomed as a signal of Sarina's death.
