Chapter 9 Valentines Special!

Peridot's pov~

    I furiously cut my card up into a large heart. I had been researching how to make Valentine's Day cards, and I decided to make a heart card. I grabbed a sparkly silver 'Sharpie' and scribbled Stevens name into the card. I didn't even notice the sound of regenerating right in front of me.

    "Hey Dot, whatcha doin?" I heard Amethyst ask. I shrieked, surprised, and shoved the card under a pillow. Why did she have to regenerate NOW!!! I was never going to get done with this chapter- I mean card in time! "N-Nothiiing!" I stutter, and smile innocently at her.

    Amethyst snickers and lifts the pillow, seeing the card.
"Ooooooh!" Amethyst sings, "Someone is in loooove!"

        "Yeah? So what?" I cross my arms, glaring at her. "I finally have something legit to tease you about!" Amethyst yells excitedly.

        "Guys, what's going on?" Steven wakes up and starts to ask. I take the pillow back from Amethyst and shove it back into the card.

"What is all this noise!" Pearl, who just regenerated, asks. I cover up Amethysts mouth with my hand and she glares at me. "WHAT ARE THEY DOING HERE?!" Pearl screams at Lapis and Jaspers gems.
      
So Steven explains again why he saved them. Well, basically I got them from the sea, and he made the choice to keep them. Pearl is pacing and ranting basically to herself by the time Steven is done explaining.

      At least, I think she was ranting to herself. I don't know, I wasn't listening. I was looking for the card so I could find a proper place to hide it. But it wasn't under the pillow! I noticed that Amethyst was gone too.

       "AMETHYST!!!" I screamed and took off running towards Amethyst, who was up at the barn holding my oversized card.

        By the time I was at the barn, panting, Amethyst had already hid it and was snoozing on a hay bale. I suck at athletics. Steven was also there. How slow am I?!

     "Amethyst! What did you do?" Steven asked amethyst worriedly, waking Amethyst up. "I stole..... Something....... From Peridot!" She tells him, "I also hid it!" Amethyst giggles.

      "Amethyyyyst!" I whine. Amethyst starts to look like she got an idea. "Hey Steven, you should help Peridot here find it! You'll LOOOOOOVE it!" Amethyst looks at me mischievously and snickers quietly.

"Um... Ok?" Steven says, confused. I start to panic and dive inside the barn to look for it.

I can't find it! It's not even in the barn! I know because I have looked at EVERY SINGLE INCH IF THIS BARN!

Wait a minute... What is Steven doing? He looks like he is climbing a ladder...

I see a hint of red on the roof as Steven finds the Valentine's card a made him. It was on the roof...

As he reads it I run off as quick as I can. (FINALLY I'M FAST!!!) I make it to the temple in time for Steven to finish reading what I wrote on the back of the card. I pop inside to see Jasper chained up, being dragged by Garnet outside.

I ignore the scenario and hide under the couch. But I feel another presence. I look to my left to see Lapis glaring at me. "Shh! No time to explain!" I whisper. She whispers back. "Have you come to hurt Steven?" She asks, "Whoa your tiny!" Her eyes widen.

My eyes role. "I'm part of the crystal gems now you clod!" I insult her. I quiet down as Steven burst through the door, blushing madly. "Peridot!" He calls. I curl up into a ball silently hoping he won't find me.

"She's under here!" Lapis yells to Steven. "YOU FILTHY CLOD!" I kick Lapis and squeeze out from under the couch before she can hurt me. I look at Steven shyly and duck my head in shame.

But he hugs me. I smile goofily and hug him tightly back. "Thank you..." He whispers into my ear. "Your welcome!" I whisper back. He slips a small 'toy' into my arms. "Happy Valentine's Day!" He tells me happily. I beam and look at the stuffed 'bear'. It's holding a heart that says

Smile!

...

So I do...

Dear Steven,
Thank you for being my friend when no one else wanted me here. You supported me, you were my friend when no one cared. I wasn't always very grateful, or nice to you for that. But thank you. Thank you for making me happy. So I wish you a happy Valentine's Day!
