All I could think is to run. He knows, he knows, he knows. He'll make fun of me, taunt me, hate me. I whimpered as my heart started to feel like it was being clenched and suppressed from beating, although it was beating a lot from my running. What would the gems do if they knew I actually did love him? They would shatter me...

       I heard Stevens distant yelling, but I didn't care anymore. Oh my stars, I can't do anything right. I dodged left and right to make sure I don't hit a tree as I sprinted away from my fear.

      "So you're my colleague?" Jasper asked, her raspy voice matching her looks. She looked over me and made me want to stutter. "Yes, I am Peridot, and in case you don't know we are designed technicians that are meant to build and drive ships." I said, reading my new finger-screen. I was getting accustomed to the technology.

    "I know that!" Jasper snapped, "I'm not stupid!"
     I looked at her and shrugged. "I wasn't saying you were." I told her. She just growled. "In case you don't know, We're leaving tomorrow. Might want to get adjusted to the ship controls and stuff." Jasper muttered and strides into the ship.

I shut my eyes tightly as I ran, ignoring my heart throbbing with pain and my panting. I opened my eyes back up just in time to slam my head into a tree. I was running fast and hard, so as I hit my gem I heard a large crack.

Steven is still coming

No.... I can't... Retreat.... Into.... My gem!!!

I won't be able to regenerate... But it hurts so badly! "Nngh!" I clenched my teeth in pain. I glanced at my hands. They were starting to get a paler green. Words rung in my head like a bell. Traitor, Useless, Nobody cares about you, and they shouldn't, either.

      I thought about how obvious I had made it that I liked Steven... I wonder what he was going to say? He probably hates me now... I thought about how I was all alone now... I had nobody on homeworld, and now I have nobody here. I frantically clawed at my gem, while the water spilled out of my cheeks.
"W-Why do I a-always mess things up!" I wailed. I felt like there was nothing anymore in my mind. Was there ever? I'm not sure... My eyes widened and I started to laugh for no reason at all. I thought about what it would be like... If I wasn't here at all...

Stevens pov🎈⭐️~

     I let out a strangled cry as I tripped over a rock. I immediately scrambled up and started to run after Peridot again. Why was she freaking out like this? I slowed to a stop. I had to get the other crystal gems! I started to run back towards the temple. I think I knew the way back...

(TIME SKIP)
(Still Stevens pov~)

         I burst into the temple. "Garnet! Amethyst! Peeeeeeaaaaarlll!!!" I shouted for them. I felt my eyes mist up as I thought about what might be happening to Peridot. "Steven! What's wrong!" Pearl burst out of the room, screeching. I guess she forgot me and Peridot 'needed to show her something'

     "Peridot freaked out and ran away for som reason! Keito had attacked her and asked why she even hangs out with me and she said some stuff about me being really good and other stuff and then I saved her and she started to get really scared and cry and run off-" I was cut off from my ranting by Garnet.

    Garnet brushed past me and went outside. I followed her. She untied Jasper from a large, tall rock that was on the beach. Jasper was curled up and sleeping in the warmth. I looked over to see Lapis sleeping in the water, not tied up. "Jasper, your going to help us find Peridot." Garnet told Jasper. Jasper yawned. "Good, I haven't seen her ever since I regenerated." Jasper grinned, sort of wickedly.

    "She's not going to help you escape, Jasper." Garnet said, "she's good now, and you're still going to help us find her."
