Chapter 29

It's such a nice day outside in WV. Pic is of my friend. I am writing this part outside lol. Also, last chapter when Steven said he would love to see Peridot in a bathing suit, that was NOT an inappropriate joke or anything. He was just wandering what her bathing suit would look like, and how cute she would look in it. Thank you for understanding. I am not a pedophile. Also, for each chapter, at the end I will describe a charectors personality. Today is Emerald.
(Stevens pov🐍~)

It's Connie. I freeze in surprise and feel a bit guilty for some reason. "Steven?" She says a bit sadly. "H-Hi Connie" I stutter, still holding Peridot. "I j-just came here with my family, how about y-you?" She tries to ignore what just happened. "Me and P-Peridot came here..." Gosh this is awkward. "Why aren't you in a bathing suit?" She asks a bit harshly. "We came here fused." I admit quietly. Connie looks down at the ground and walks away. She drags her feet as she does.

"Connie, wait!" I call after her, but she doesn't turn around. She just keeps going. Peridot puts her hand on my shoulder in an attempt to comfort me. It usually would've worked, but this time it just made me more upset and frustrated. Why was Connie acting like this?! "I... I'm going home." I brush her hand off my shoulder and walk away.

(Peridot's pov🌵~)

Why do I feel so rejected? I didn't do anything bad, like I did to Amethyst, right? I watch until Steven exited the place, then headed towards the exit myself. This was such a waste of earth currency.

(10 minutes later)

I think that I'm lost. I can't remember how I got to the pool, or how to get back to the temple. That was Steven that was directing us. Now I'm stuck on a muddy road, nowhere near the 'boardwalks'. "Peridot!" I hear distant calling for me. I jerk my head, that was tilted down, up and look around. "What? Where are you!?" I yell to the voice. "Peridot!" It yells again, except closer and clearer. It's Garnets voice. I spin to the direction of the voice and see her running towards me. "Peridot, Pearl has been looking everywhere for you and Steven. I know tonight has been a bit disappointing for you, but it will be okay. Steven's heading home right now." She says, putting her hands on my shoulders. I hold back a sniffle and hug her. "Thank you... For coming to get me..." I'm still not used to saying these things. Garnet hugs back, and we go home.

(Emeralds pov🍏~)

   "That... Was weird..." I grumble after the fusion ran off. Pearl went running after it, squawking. "Nah, if you live with Pearl it's not that weird. Pearl is weird." Amethyst chuckles. "It is weird that a Pearl is able to be that expressive. I had a Pearl during my training to help me with stuff, since I am a very high-ranked gem, and she was... She never spoke at all, even when I asked her a question. Even if it was 'What did you do with my other suit?' She just nodded or shook her head." I noticed that during my ranting, Amethyst and Lapis had dozed off. A prick of annoyance met my chest. How were they even resting standing up?!

  "Hey!" I poked them each separately. Lapis jerked up and slapped my hand away, and Amethyst fell on top of me, knocking me over. "Ah!" I cry. Lapis walks away and starts to raid the human energy cooler. They call it the 'fridge'. I blush as Amethyst unconsciously wraps her arms around me. I try to get up, and fortunately I do. I hold up Amethyst and carry her to the couch. By the time I do, I'm panting like crazy. I plop her down on the couch, after untangling her limbs from my body.

   I feel the temptation to brush her hair from her eyes. Why not follow my feelings? So I do brush her hair from her eyes.
