Pearls pov🕊~

I followed Peridot and Steven, who were holding hands, expectantly. If it was about the drill, it had to be important, we had been really busy with Jasper and Lapis, and haven't really been working on it. Sometimes I would go out at night and work on it a little, but that's it.

My mind flashed to Garnet, I wonder how she was doing with Lapis and Jasper? She was in her room with them laying down some rules. I'm pretty sure Lapis might comply, but Jasper might have to be put on a leash for a while. Literally.

I noticed Steven and Peridot were leading me towards beach city. "Um, don't we have to go to the barn?" I questioned. "No, it's about the drill and... It's about the drill." Peridot had a hint of desperation in her voice as she looked at Steven for help explaining.

     Nothing suspicious there.

    (Time skip)

"Steven, Peridot, you have been leading me around for about an hour! What is up with you two!" I growl angrily.
"Nothing! Don't question our actions! This is about the drill here!" Peridot yells at me.

Peridot's pov💚~

I feel Stevens grip on my hand tighten as he switches direction and starts to walk towards the beach. "What are you doing?" I whisper curiously. "I can see Connie, maybe Connie will help with distracting Pearl." He whispers back.

I squint and focus my eyes and I can see Connie sitting in the sand next to Nova and who I remember to be Keito. Keito is sitting separated from Nova and Connie.

Steven and I start to sprint towards them, almost forgetting about Pearl until she shouts out "Wait!" and runs after us. Her incredibly long legs allowed her to catch up quickly as we pulled to a stop next to Connie and Nova.

Keito looked almost surprised and waved at us. Well, he was kind of only waving at me. Since Connie and I weren't exactly on each other's good side at the time, and Nova was looking at me oddly, I went over and sat with him as Steven sat down next to Nova and Connie.

I felt a pang of loneliness but brushed it off.
"Hello, Keito." I greeted him. He smiled at me sort of weirdly.
"Hi Peridot." He replied, "How are you doing today?"
"I'm good, you?" I told him, looking over at Pearl, who was distracted talking to Connie about how they haven't had time to practice and we better do it now. Thank goodness Pearl got distracted easily.

"I'm doing great now that your here. I had to listen to those girls ramble about how rude you are. Heck, I was about to..." Keito trailed off from his sentence. "If anything, they're the rude ones! Connie is such a clod and Nova has hardly even met me!" I said angrily as I looked over at Connie, Nova, Steven, and Pearl.

Pearl was training Connie and Steven and Nova was watching, interested. As Connie and Steven were back to back, Steven towards Pearl with his shield out, Connie stuck her tongue out at me. I stuck my tongue out back, but she just smirked.

Keito let out an enraged growl, almost an animalistic growl. For some odd reason, I was used to the growling part, just not the part where someone was growling for me, instead of at me. Oh, yeah, Jasper growled a lot. At me.

"Would you like to go somewhere else?" I asked. I knew Steven would probably think he lost me, but I didn't really care. I felt the need to make him scared he lost me, and then find me with Keito, and be so jealous! It will be perfect to see the look on his face!

But why did I want to do this? I also felt like I should be the one with Steven, not Connie. I've never felt this type of jealousy. I often felt jealous of Jasper for being so strong and confident when I was back on the ship, and on homeworld.

But I have never felt the jealousy of wanting to be in another's place just to be with a certain person. I realized that I had blanked out for a moment and Keito was sticking out his hand to help me up. He was looking at me expectantly and was snapping his fingers at me. "Huh? Oh, sorry..." I blushed in embarrassment as I grabbed the tall boys hand.
