Chapter 20

We're only on the 20th chapter and I feel like this has gone on for 100. I love writing this though. If your even reading this chapter, congrats! You made it through my terrible writing and long times to update. In the last chapter, notice Peridot mentioned settling. Settling isn't what you think it is, it's like puberty for gems that they started putting in new gems a while after the crystal gems left. It isn't canon. ONTO THE STORY!

(Stevens pov⭐️~)

    "What are you doing?" I ask Emerald as she sits criss-cross-Apple-sauce before the advanced control panel. "Taking you home. Yellow Diamond is cruel, the nightmare cells are cruel. I'm so gonna regret this..." She says, but mumbles the last part. "Why didn't you use your wings when running?" I asked her again before she put her hands in the control board. "You wouldn't have been able to keep up!" She snaps, then starts to fly the ship. "Aw, I had another question..." I grumbled.

"Well, we have to go before someone notices we're not in the nightmare cells." Peridot tells me with a large grin on her face. She's probably happy we didn't go to the 'nightmare cells'. I look out the small window in front on Emerald. I guess it's there in case of an emergency. We start to lift up into the starry sky. I wonder what color it is during the daytime on this planet.

"The stars are beautiful, aren't they Peridot?" I ask her, turning to look at her. The light from the control board shines in her eyes, giving them a beautiful sparkle. Same for her gem. I blush as I realize I'm staring, but I don't look away. She turns to me. "Yes, they are." She says, blushing and starting to stare back at me. I don't know how long the moment lasted, but I wish it had lasted longer. Amethysts gem started to glow and lift out of my pocket. We both watched as she reformed, same as she'd always been.

"Take us home!" She shouted angrily, trying to pounce onto Emerald. "Wait Amethyst!" I yelled as Peridot and I tried to hold her back. "She's on our side now Amethyst." I tell her, trying to calm her down with my incredibly soothing voice. Heheh... Amethyst looks at me, confused. "S-She is?" Amethyst asks, cocking her head. "Yes you clod, now sit down!" Peridot snaps. Amethyst shrugs and sits down in between me and Peridot.

     "Why were we able to read the billboards? Doesn't homeworld have a different kind of writing or something?" I asked, hoping someone will answer. Peridot probably knows."Well, some gems' missions are on other planets, so they live most of their lives there. They are taught that planets language and sometimes don't know homeworlds written language, so the billboards are meant to enter up to 4,000 gems mind at a time and change the language to yours. It's only meant to get your language, not anything else, so your thoughts are safe." Peridot explained.

     "Wow..." I whispered in amazement. Homeworld must have REALLY advanced technology. Maybe that's why we should be afraid if they strike.
