Chapter 25

(Peridot's pov🌝~)

    About an hour after Emerald and Amethyst disappeared into Amethysts room to eat trash, Pearl regenerated. She drew her spear, but got a confused looks as she realized she wasn't where she was. After a lot of explaining, she understood. We left out the parts about me and Steven fusing. "Oh my, we need to work on the drill!" She exclaimed randomly, covering her mouth with her hand. My eyes widened. "Your right! The Cluster could emerge any minute!" I yell shakily. I run up to Amethysts door and I knock on it frantically.

"Chill, we know. Drill?" Amethyst asks, opening up the door to reveal herself and Emerald. "What were you two doing in your room? Together?" Pearl asks, covering Stevens ears for what she expected. "I dug out some mattresses and we slept. Not anything dirty, Pearl." Amethyst rolls her eyes and leads Emerald out of the temple. Pearl growls and stomps out too, leaving Steven and I looking confused. Umm... What just happened?

"Umm... What just happened?" Steven asked. "Exactly what I was wondering. Come on, let's go work on the drill." I say. At the same time, we grab each other's hand. Of course, we blush, but happily.

(About 10 minutes later)

I connect three wires to a narrow, cylindrical piece of tungsten, and start to connect it to the gear box in front of me. Pearl is drilling and cutting other pieces of metal, Amethyst is carrying metal over to Pearl from the barn, and Steven is over on a hay bale next to the barn, along with Emerald, who he is teaching about Earth. That's going to be hard, she's very stubborn. Well, I guess I am too, but that's not the point. I keep tinkering on the gear box, making sure it's safe to use once the drill is finished.

A small red gem comes running up to the warehouse from the temple with a blue gem in its hands. "WHAT HAPPENED!" She cried, holding the retreated blue gem out for everyone to see. "YOU!" She points at Emerald, clutching the gem in her opposite hand. Pearl calms her down and leads her away, telling her what we told Pearl. So much explaining.

     I suddenly remember who she is, and who she was holding. Ruby, and Sapphire. In other words, Garnet. "At least they can't fuse. Fusion irritates me so much." I hear Emerald say as Pearl comes back with Ruby. I feel a prickle of irritation at her, but then I remember I used to be like that. "It isn't that bad." Steven says to her. "You've fused before?" Emerald sneers at Steven, scooting away from him. "Yes, I have." Steven replies, looking hurt. "Disgusting..." Emerald mutters and gets up, dusting herself off. Okay, that's IT!
"Don't be so rude!" I hiss at her.
"Shut up!" She shoots back.
"No! I will not allow you to be so disrespectful to him, you CLOD!" I shout, anger building up in my chest.
"Oh, you won't, will you?" She asks quietly. She starts to scream at me, "YOU WANNA FIGHT, 'CAUSE I WILL FIGHT!"
"YEAH I WANNA FIGHT, GIVE ME ALL YOU GOT!" I scream back.

"Heheheheheh..." She chuckles darkly. I give her a cold look. "You can't even summon your weapon, how are you going to fight me?" She says in a sickly sweet tone. I realize at that moment Pearl, Amethyst, and Ruby are watching, Pearl shocked and holding back Ruby from Emerald, and Amethyst amused. Steven looked like he was trying to keep himself from intervening. I turn back to Emerald and growl at her. Two vines sprout out of the ground and grab my arms, pulling me down to the ground.

I tried to wriggle out, but it didn't work. I let out a cry of frustration. Why am I just so useless! I pull my arm HARD towards my head, and I touch my gem, which is starting to shine. An axe materializes into my hand. I cut the binding on my arms and got up. I snickered at the shocked look on her face. I ran at her, and she shook herself out of her surprise. She flicked her arms up and a wall of thorns appeared before me. I skidded to a stop and cut the thorns with my axe. Only then did I really get a look at it. It wasn't long nor short, but the head of it was curved and sharp. The handle was smooth and widened near the end. I narrowed my eyes at Emerald. "Let the real fight begin..." I muttered.
