~Your POV~
"General!" I yelled. She was just about to leave for Takodana. I ran out onto the tarmac to try to stop her.
"What is it, (Y/N)?" She was clearly agitated. "And make it quick, will you?"
"We need to talk about Tarika when you get back," I say. The engines of her transport roared to life, making it hard to hear anything. "It's important."
"Is that all?" I barely make out what she said.
"Yes," I reply.
She nods and walks into the rectangular transport. I watched it rise into the sky and then disappear out of atmosphere. The people that milled around went back into Command. Leia was suspected to be back within an hour with BB-8. Well, that's if the First Order didn't get to her first.
I sat at my post. The doll Tarika made for me was in my hands. I don't know if it was the doll, or her dreams, or even my own fear, but I had to tell Leia the truth when she got back. And I mean all of it. She hasn't known for six years, no seven years if you count the secret relationship he and I shared for that last year we were together.
I was sick of the lies and secrets now. I hated holding back everything from Leia, my own daughter, too. Leia needed to know everything now. She would know what to do, for she always knew what to do. Tarika? She was still to young to understand anything that went on behind her back or even in her own mind. Those dreams she has mean something, they always do.
There was nothing to feel when it came to hiding things from him. He made his choice six years ago to leave me. And for what? Power? Freedom from his parents? All of these answers to the millions of questions I was bound to ask him someday swirled in my mind.
I was never going to ever have the chance, though. Leia always tried to keep her thoughts from me, but she never could. She was afraid to send me on missions for the Resistance. Most recently, I was supposed to be the one to go to Jakku for the map, but she knew who was also trying to get the map. She feared that if he were to capture me, he'd turn me against the Resistance and, because I know so much about everything going on, I'd be the best weapon against it. There was also my ability with the Force that had to be considered, as well.
I shook my head from the thought as a message danced across my datapad screen. I was need immediately by one of Tarika's instructors.
Quickly, I make my way to the lessons room. Tarika sat outside on a chair, her head in her hands. I kneeled in front of her.
"Sweetheart, what happened?" I ask.
"Miss Vunegart's inside, Momma," she mumbles. "She wants to speak to you."
I take her hand. "Well, let's go on inside, Tar-"
"No!" She pulled her hand away. "I don't wanna go back in there! Pwease, Momma, just go talk to Miss Vunegart so we can leave!"
I sigh. "Alright, just stay out here until I'm back, okay?"
"Okay," she responds quietly. Her head still was his her hands.
I walk into her lesson room. There were about three dozen children of all species in that room. There were also three teachers. One Mon Calamari, one human, and lastly, one twi'lek, Miss Vunegart.
She was a light pink color, her lekku was pulled back in gold-colored weaving and a golden headpiece. Her dress itself was a aqua blue with gold. She frowned when she saw me.
"Ms. (L/N)," she says. "Thank you so much for getting here as quick as you could. As you see, we had an accident that had to do with your daughter, Tarika."
