My eyelids felt heavy and I struggled to raise them. I winced and squinted my eyes at the bright daylight, which only seemed to worsen my pounding headache. It felt like someone had thrown an axe down the middle of my head.
The pain was excruciating; a sort of pain I had never experienced before and something I never wanted to go through again. I don't think I would ever want to drink if this was the consequence I have to deal with after.
I pushed away the blanket and quickly sat up. That was a horrible decision. The room violently swirled in front of my vision, giving me a horrible sensation of wanting to puke. I clutched my head in my palms and squeezed my eyes shut, praying that the throbbing in my head would stop.
I kept one hand on the wall to support me as I stood up. The room swayed before going back to being stationary.
My stomach lurched and gurgled, the lump in my throat gave me a foreboding feeling that I was going to throw up. So I tried my best to drag my heavy limbs to the bathroom as fast as I could.
I sank to the floor and clutched the side of the toilet bowl with shaking hands. My stomach contracted violently and I heaved into the toilet.
My eyes stung with tears as I again heaved out my stomach content. My throat felt sore from all the puking and my mouth was left with a horribly bitter taste of vomit.
I weakly extended my arm up to flush away my mess before heading for the sink to wash away the vomit that was beginning to settle in my mouth.
A few minutes after I went back to lie on the bed in the front room, the door flung open. In came two young boys, I recognised one of them to be Yosub.
Their feet stomped towards me, the sound of their giggling felt like it was being projected in front of a microphone. The pounding in my head that was beginning to settle down made a comeback as soon as the boys entered.
"NOONA!"
I groaned and covered my ears with the pillow my head was resting on. They sat in front of me and they both gave me a huge toothy grin which I replied with a dirty look.
I tried to tell them to go away, but it only came out as a whisper; which obviously they did not hear. It felt like a desert had formed in my throat and speaking only made it feel like my throat was rubbing against sandpaper.
"You are sick," said Yosub, a frown forming in his face as he inspected me.
Well damn, I had no idea.
I tightly wrapped the blanket around my body as I tried to zone out their voices from my mind. But was quickly interrupted by someone elses voice.
I looked up to see Taeyeon walking in with a tray in her hand. She sat next to the boys as I looked at a bowl of soup on the tray.
"Good morning!" she said cheerfully.
I wish it was a good morning.
"My older brother made hangover soup for you," she smiled at me, pointing to the bowl.
I tried to open my mouth to say something but the words were quickly buried by the desert in my throat. I reluctantly sat up and winced when the room spun around once again.
I couldn't find the strength to even feed myself, which Taeyeon seemed to understand. She picked up the spoon and began feeding me, I would weakly open my mouth every time the spoon came close by.
"Oh, aren't those blankets from my house?" she questioned, looking at all the sheets and blankets that made my bed.
That is when I suddenly realised that none of these were mine, and I had no idea how they had got here. Actually as a matter of fact, I had no idea what happened last night after my second can of beer.
Someone must have taken me home because no way would I have managed to walk myself home in an unfamiliar area whilst completely drunk.
"It probably is because these aren't mine," I managed to croak out, shrugging my shoulders.
"That's why I could hear Taehyung creating such a racket in the middle of the night, opening and shutting drawers," she chuckled, shaking her head.
Every spoonful decreased the desert in my throat, until eventually I could finally speak properly. My headache had seemed to calm down to the point where it was bearable, even if the boys were still shouting at each other in the corner.
"Sorry unni, we have to go help out in the rice fields or else mum will go mad," said Taeyeon, looking at my alarm clock.
"Yeah please do, I can feed myself now," I said.
I watched the three of them leave, before continuing to feed myself the soup. By the time I had finished the bowl, I felt ten times better than before. I even had the energy to wash the bowl, I had to do something to show my gratitude.
I let the bowl dry while I went to the bathroom to freshen myself. I felt disgusting and sweaty in my clothes. And the amount of grease formed in my hair could be enough for me to make a meal. Not that I was going to anyways, because I wasn't planning to burn down the house any time soon.
After another horrible showering session, I went to open the cupboard. And was pleasantly surprised by how neatly everything was arranged, because it was certainly not done by me. Unless I cleaned the house while completely wasted, which was highly unlikely.
I grabbed the tray and bowl before trudging next door to the Kim family's house. Their area was much grander than mine, it was almost embarrassing. Their house wasn't huge but it was bigger than mine at least and it was surrounded by fields.
I knocked on the door thrice, which creaked open a while later. I could hear a deep voice behind the door talking to someone, a voice that belonged to Taehyung. He peeked his head out of the door and seemed startled to see me.
"Hey I just wanted to say tha- "
Before I could finish my sentence, he rudely slammed the door in my face.
Rude.
I stood there blinking, shocked and confused at what just happened. I furrowed my eyebrows and scowled at the door, as if he could see me. I was about to leave but the door opened again.
He sheepishly stood there and scratched the back of his head. Today, he was no longer wearing those hideous overalls, but instead was wearing a red tracksuit set, zipped up to his chin.
"What do you want?"
I frowned at him, was this how he usually greeted people?
"I only wanted to thank you for making me the soup and also the bed," I said. I pushed the tray and bowl towards his chest, which he quickly grabbed. I was expecting him to say something but he just stood there looking at the floor.
"What happened last night when I was drunk?" I asked, "did you take me home?"
Finally, he looked up and met my eyes but quickly looked away. I could see a faint blush growing on his cheeks.
"Nothing happened," he quickly replied.
I narrowed my eyes and carefully observed his reaction as I crossed my arms across my chest.
"Did I do something stupid?"
He let out a little gasp and quickly averted his eyes from me. The boy was acting stranger and stranger.
"Urm, well," he began, "oh I think my mum is calling me. MUM I'M COMING!"
Then he once again slammed the door in my face, leaving me speechless. I could hear his footsteps thundering up the stairs.
Something must have happened last night for him to be acting so weirdly. If this happened back at home in the city, I would've hardly cared.
But I guess due to this new environment, I was starting to take interest in such petty things to push away my boredom. I really wanted to know.
What happened last night?
A/N HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! This chapter had nothing exciting going on. I have one week holiday so I will be able to write more yay XD. Anyways thank you to anyone who is still supporting me, I really do appreciate it.
