I'm not going to lie.
Ever since that night, I woke up every single day with the fear that I would have to once again runaway. I was scared that there would be mobs of paparazzi just outside my doorstep, waiting to attack me.
"Noona! Are you even listening to me?"
Yosub was shaking a cabbage leaf in front of me, causing water to splatter onto my face.
"Don't ruin my cabbage. I worked so hard to grow them!"
I tried to sound threatening but it obviously didn't work. He simply giggled and proceeded to munch on the leaf. I shook my head and went back to pulling out my vegetables from the ground.
A full week had passed since the filming crew left the village and Dahye had kept her promise after all. Well at least so far.
After my crying session, I was sort of in a slump for the following few days. Everything just made me sad and want to cry for no apparent reason, it was like I was the main lead of some melo-drama.
Taehyung too had noticed my unnatural behaviour because he also kept his distance from me, which was just what I needed. I needed some time and space on my own to think. It was an activity I practiced all too little especially during my career because most of the time I was told what to think and say. There hardly was a time where I could actually be myself.
Well on the bright side, the whole village was buzzing because it was Harvest season. I admit that I was actually kind of excited because my crops had fully grown. For the first time in my life I had successfully grown something and I was proud of it. They were like my precious babies and I guess I began understanding how these farmers felt.
"Noona you are blanking out again!"
I chuckled at the pouting boy and pinched his cheeks, causing him to giggle. He was the only person who stayed by my side all week. This was due to the fact that apparently the little boy had no concept of 'stay away from a person when they are upset'. Well at least I enjoyed his company.
"You've helped me enough. You should head home now; you have tuition remember?"
Yosub let out a loud groan as he threw the vegetable in the basket. I understood how he felt because I equally hated studying but that didn't stop me from laughing at his dissatisfaction.
"I will help you take these to the- "
"YOUNG MAN, IT'S TIME TO STUDY"
I mouthed fighting and pumped my fist at the frowning boy. He also half-heartedly pumped his fists back before making his way to his shouting grandma.
I pursed my lips to stop myself from smiling at how slowly he was walking on purpose, just so he could buy some time. Then I went back to pulling the last batch of crops out. Soon I had filled up two huge baskets.
I thought hard about how I was going to take both baskets to the warehouse without having to take two trips.
"I will help you," said Taehyung, picking up the heavier basket. For a split second I actually feared he had read my mind.
"Aren't you coming?" asked Taehyung, who was now few steps ahead.
I picked up the second basket and jogged a little to match his pace. We stayed in silence for a while, only the sound of our walking and mooing of cows nearby could be heard.
"You know the Farmer's Market is coming up."
"I haven't been informed about that," I replied, shaking my head.
"Every so often there is a huge market in Seoul where many farmer's gather to sell what they have grown. Haven't you ever been to one before?"
I thought for a while but according to my memory, the last time I went to the market was with my parents during my childhood years.
"Well not that I remember. Maybe I have."
"I've only taken part in it once, last year. Most of the time the scary ahjuushi and the village leader go on the behalf of our village. My dad used to go with them too."
I nodded, but stayed quiet so he could continue talking.
"This year we can ALL take part because we gained enough money for our travel expenses."
He gave me a huge toothy grin, once again showing off his unique smile and I couldn't help but reply with a small smile too. The thought of going back to the city made me excited.
My home.
"Have Yosub and Taejun ever been to the city?"
"Nope," he said, shaking his head, "I'm sure they are both extremely excited."
"No doubt about that, especially Yosub." I said, causing us both to chuckle.
I could almost picture the look on his face when he sees tall buildings in the city, incomparable to the ones in the village.
We had finally arrived in the huge warehouse, as said by Taehyung, this was the place where all the crops were stored; mainly for huge events for example the Farmer's Market.
I grabbed a few boxes to store my crops in. Taehyung helped me tape the boxes together and we piled them on top of one another.
I shifted the boxes a little back and then turned around to face Taehyung. We both let out a huge sigh and high-fived to commemorate the job being done.
Whilst I was chuckling, I stupidly decided to take a step back and this only caused me to bump into the boxes right behind me.
Without saying a word, Taehyung quickly stepped forwards a little too close to me. He placed one hand behind my head and brought my face closer to his chest. He raised his other arm above his head, just in time for the boxes to fall on him, which caused dozens of apples to roll out.
I let out a gasp when Taehyung grunted at the impact from the box hitting his arm. I looked up to see his face, he had his eyes shut tight and his lips pursed, probably due to the pain he felt.
The last time we were this close was on our first meeting when he picked me up after my tragic fall. I once again saw his crowd of freckles dotted across his nose bridge. It gave a unique flare to his appearance.
My eyes flickered upwards to his eyes. I had to admit, he had really nice and thick eyebrows which I envied. I would have to draw on my brows for like an hour just to achieve what he was naturally gifted with.
He opened his eyelids and I became flustered with our sudden eye contact. My cheeks flamed to another darker shade of red when I could still feel his eyes on me, even though I had looked away. I tried to look anywhere else but at him. The ceiling. The floor. The apples whom were now rolling to different directions.
I was sure even he could hear my thumping heart, that was on the verge of breaking free from my chest. Surely it wasn't healthy for a human's heart to be beating this fast.
I couldn't understand why I was behaving this way. Was I getting sick? I tried to believe maybe I was because I didn't like the other option as to why I was being like this.
There was no reason for me to think that I could have developed that sort of emotions or feelings for him. Surely...
"NOOO MY APPLES! HOW DARE YOU!"
A/N Back home, safe and sound from my short holiday. Sadly. But at least I can update now. Finally I'm going to start making some development in the relationship between our main leads. Well at least that is what I am trying to do. I reckoned that the plot needs to start moving on before y'all start getting bored of the story :/
