EXTRA, EXTRA, THERE'S A CHAPTER !!!!!!
It's a Neidra and Caomh chapter, and it's short. It's also the last chapter in Part 3. We are officially more than halfway done with Revenge.
I got another rejection from an agent today :(
And I was jamming out to "California Girls" by Katy Perry while writing Caomh's monologue.
Thank you to the lovely person who sent me that fan art through Tumblr, the one with Thea and bright green eyes and the closing words in Maelstrom. It's beautiful, and it totally made my day.
Haley_Ferland is planning on doing some sort of "Emerald Chronicles"-esque art for her next AP Art piece, and is going to surprise me, and I am very excited because Haley's artwork is beyond brilliant and amazing.
Enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 31:
"I'm glad they're dead," says Neidra stormily. "They ruined a perfectly capable, perfectly straightforward, perfectly manageable operation. How difficult is it to kill one princess, one emperor, and the rest of their useless friends?"
"Quite clearly, it is," says Caomh. Like his mother, he looks suitably angry. They are in a tent two miles from Fletohein. It's dark, but the candlelight hanging from the post in the center of the structure throws glows over the last living members of the Ladyune family.
"I thought you could handle this," says Neidra. She does not normally speak scathingly to her son, but is doing it now.
He doesn't have the grace to look apologetic. Instead, he scowls and retorts, "It was hardly my fault, Mother. Blame the girl. It was your idea for me to romance her, your idea for me to bed her when every time my skin touches hers, I feel as though I am touching a swamp creature."
"You should have kept her with you then," says Neidra. "Part of being a leader is delegating tasks to your soldiers, only when you know they're competent."
"Thank you," Caomh says dryly, "I will attempt to remember that next time you send me on a high-seas renegade to kill an entire royal family and their closest companions."
"I admit it was a shallow shot," says Neidra, "but it was an opening of weakness, and I always strike when the door to Loki's weakness is wide open."
"Well," says Coamh, "the first time you did that, the Imeldi ended up being eradicated. The second time you did that, the Velah actually did end up coming back to power, but Videl broke your spell and therefore broke from you. The third time you did that, our guarantee to the Northern army was killed by a pint of a girl, the Asgardian king was murdered before his time, and you only barely managed to take over Loki's mind. The fourth time you did that, you almost succeeded, but then forgot about the boy, and it resulted in Thea and Loki being hell-bent against you. The fifth time you did that, you lost the Earth. And so far since then, every time you send an assassin or assassins to kill Thea or someone else, either our numbers diminish or there's some other massive failure."
"I'm fully aware," says Neidra hotly. "Don't worry, my son. I've just weeded out those too weak for our purpose. The next time there's an attempt to take the lives of Thea or Loki or Videl or any of those little devils, I shall do it myself. And I will not fail."
"Let's do hope you mean it this time," says Caomh, holding out his hand for Shahina the hyena, who has just entered, to lick. Her tongue is rough and barbed like a cat's, but her body is shaped like a wild dog. Her fur hangs wildly over her haunches, and her silver eyes gleam in the candlelight. She lets out a short bark, which comes across more as a dry laugh.
