This is it, guys. The last chapter of Revenge

I'm working on the epilogue now, and I'll probably have it up today. The video will be finished sometime this week, before Haley and I graduate on Friday.

Wow. I can't even begin to describe my emotions right now. Six books later, and we're just about finished.

Chapter 54: Last Dance

S I X     M O N T H S        L A T E R

I turned seventeen years old last Friday. We kept the celebrations to a minimum. It's not like I look any older, after all.

Over these months, I've distracted myself from the grief of losing Videl- and Angelique- by keeping myself busy. Usually, this means working with Loki to bring peace back to Asgard, or helping back home in New York.

Things in Asgard have settled down. Olwu was killed in the battle, felled by one of Marjoy's well-aimed arrows. His lands, as well as those of Fjodr, Agnai, and Neidra, have fallen back into the hands of the capitol, into Loki's hands. Neidra's mansion was burned the same day I killed Almas out of mercy, but thousands of twisted, forested acres remain. But unlike the expanses once belonging to Fjodr, Olwu, and Agnai, the haunted forests once clasped by Neidra have not been stepped into. It may be a long time before anyone is brave enough to venture there again.

Peace, for the most part, has spread across the realm. After the defeat against Neidra, most of the Asgardians trust Loki, and agree that he is the rightful king. Even more of them believe that I am the rightful princess, having seen my fire burn both the trees on the battlefield and the body of Neidra. Saldra has stayed in the palace these months to help Loki and me sort out and discrepancies that came about from the war. On the days I spend in Asgard, I run through the halls or sit in the throne room beside my father, listening to the qualms of the people and then figuring out the best solutions.

Also during my visits, Daietri accompanies me through the halls of the palace. The redheaded Dmitri siblings, like Saldra, are helping Loki, so while Lak takes most of the soldiers home to the North, Eala and Marjoy stay. Dai and I practice with our swords, and I beat him every time. But he beats me in archery, a slight I have gotten rather used to losing.

Dai is fun and charming, but has a calmness about him that soothes my anxiety. His violet eyes, as bright and multi-colored as the stained glass of a cathedral, remain on me even when I've turned away. He doesn't say much, but what he does is full of wisdom and kindness beyond his years. When, a month or so later, Marjoy prepares to return to the North, Dai chooses to remain with Eala, although Loki snidely remarks to me that Eala is not the lady Dai is staying for.

About half my time, I am back on Earth. Things in SHIELD are changing rapidly with the times. Most of the Avengers are on their own, or on separate teams- I'm in Asgard when I'm informed of a tussle between Tony and Steve that had rather large consequences. I pay it little mind: a family who has gone through this much will only be split for so long.

Jack and I break up in the cool autumn of September. I think we knew this would come as soon as we found out that Loki turned me immortal. But it is not because of this that we amicably decide to separate. We still love each other deeply, and a part of each of us will always belong to another. That's what a first love does: sticks to you, sometimes maims you, but always remains inside you.

We decide to break up mostly because I am leaving for Asgard the night after Natasha and Clint's wedding. And I will not be returning for at least five years.
