Well. I have no idea how I feel about this chapter. I admit, I set the events of this entire book up wrong for it, but I'm curious as to what you think.

Chapter 12
Thankfully, Loki doesn't stay mad at me for too terribly long for attacking Odilia. After we get back to Asgard and I wrap my neck in some white gauze Aura gives me, he seems to give up completely on me and turns to helping Videl in his newly assigned post as the emperor of Ardhigiza.
A week later of acting like an angel, I wrap a white fur thickly over my shoulders one evening to keep out the chill. I sit at my small oak desk and take out a piece of paper. I'm supposed to go back to Earth in a few weeks, but apparently Jack had gotten impatient because he keeps sending me letters via Wairua. But the owl has been extremely busy at Ardhigiza lately and hasn't been doing a very speedy job at playing Hedwig. The letter I'm holding in my hand from Jack is from a week ago.
Most Darling Thea,
Thank you for the dolphin necklace even though it doesn't save my life if I get stabbed. I appreciate the symbolism regardless. Yes, my birthday was magnificent. Actually though, it was a bit boring even though Peter taught me five new ways to hack into Tony's computers. Angelique helped, and my greatest sympathies to poor Peter because I'm pretty sure he's in love with her. Not that he wants to try and compete with a bloke with fangs. But regardless, have you seen Pete's puppy dog eyes because I saw them about ten times in about one hour. I consider myself lucky I don't have to compete with Videl for your affections.
One month is going way too slowly. Peter had suggested I try kissing Wairua to make up for my lack of you, but I think he'd just been saying that because he's been irritated when I'd suggested he pursue Angelique. I think he's still cranky, because he hasn't emerged from his bedroom. Whoops.
Anyway, write back soon.
Love,

I'd smiled at the piece of paper in front of me, but something had crept into me while reading Jack's words. I don't understand what it is. I can't place it. It's like a little hollowness in my chest that used to be full whenever I think of Jack. I suspect it's because he's mortal. That must be it.
The part about Peter and Angelique isn't completely surprising. I'd had my suspicions about Peter liking Angeliqe for a while now, but I know he'd never try to get in between Videl and Angelique. For some reason, this irritates me.
I take out a pen and piece of paper and write back.
Jackson Charles Barton,
I'm glad you liked the necklace. I haven't the slightest idea when I'm going back to Earth, although it's supposed to be next week, I think. About Peter, just tell him to do what he think he should. Between you and me, I think it'd be cute.
I don't know why I'm writing that either. I shake my head and look out the window. The sun is setting.
Anyway, write me back quickly too. I think Wairua is about to fly into my window, so at least you might get this tonight. I'll be home soon.
