Brittany POV

"Wait here. I'll only be a minute or two." Louis smiled. He kissed my cheek before stepping into the studio. I needed air, so I opened my car door and leaned on the hood.

Louis had to go to a super quick meeting with Simon before we went to the park

After being bored for a while, I started fiddling with the sleeves on my white long sleeved sweater. I also wore simple dark blue skinny jeans and a lilac colored knit infinity scarf. I tapped my matching lilac converse high tops on the concrete of the parking lot.

My hair was down and wavy. I never bothered to straiten it anymore when I could be doing better things with my time- like hanging out with Louis. I twirled it around my finger before getting cold and climbing back in the small red car. When I got in, I locked the doors and whipped out my phone. I noticed more Twitter notifications but ignored them. Most were mean, like: "You're just a brain dead bitch, and the only reason Louis is still with you is because he's too nice to break up with you!!!" A couple of them were nice though.

I started slicing watermelons on Fruit Ninja. Stupid bombs. I will not slice you. I won't!

I was disturbed from my fruit trance by tapping on the window. I turned and jumped when I saw two squealing girls outside. I smiled and rolled down the window.

"Is there a problem, officer?" I asked, joking with the tweens. They squealed.

"Are you Brittany Obregon!?!?" The red head asked.

"Hmm... I really don't kno- WHY YES I AM!" I joked again. They jumped up and down. I giggled and stuck my phone in my pocket. They gasped.

"Can we have a picture?" The blond one asked. I nodded and they stepped back so I could open the car door. I ran my fingers through my hair and got between the two girls as the red head girl set a timer on her phone. She placed it on the mirror and stepped back.

I smiled as the girls posted it on Twitter. I followed them and hugged them goodbye and sat in the car waiting for Louis.

He was taking forever. It's been 20 minutes and I'm nervous.

Louis' POV

"No! I won't do it!" I slammed my fist on the table.

"Louis William Tomlinson you will break up with her or your career is over!" Simon yelled. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

"I can't!" I yelled.

Simon held up my contract. Could I do this? He stood up and walked over to the shredder. I squeezed my eyes shut as he turned it on.

"Wait!" I turned around. He looked up smiling.

"I'll do it." I sighed. My career is why I am here. Simon said Brittany was getting more hate than the other girls, so I had to break up with her.

"I don't want you to," he spoke, placing an arm on my shoulder "but it's what's best for the boys." Simon finished. I couldn't hold it in. When Simon left, I broke down. My head was in my knees and I sobbed for a while.

Checking the time, I noticed that I'd been in there for 15 minutes. Brittany must be worried sick. I stood up and wiped my eyes.

As I exited the building, I noticed my small car with Brittany in it. She looked up and waved at me. I put on a fake smile and waved back. Clearly, she wasn't impressed. That girl can read me like a book.

She stepped out of the car and skipped over to me. How could I hurt a girl who was so happy and innocent?

"What's wrong Lou?" She wrapped her arms around my neck. I turned to go into the car.

"We'll talk when we go home."

"Tell me now." She spoke.

"No Brittany. I need to-"

"I said tell me now." She said and the ground shook. Damn her mermaid powers.

"I just..."

"Just what?" She said. I turned to see her with clenched fists, white knuckles.

"I'm breaking up with you." I stated finally.

"W-what?" She asked, tears spilling down her cheeks.

Here I am. In the middle of the Syco parking lot, breaking up with the best thing that ever happened to me.

"Brittany, come here. I'll explain everything." I stepped closer to her she had her head down, hands still in fists.

"Get. Away. From. Me." She growled. I stepped closer.

"Brittany ple-"

"I said get away from me." She spoke louder now, her voice getting angrier.

"Babe, just let me expla-"

"I said... GET AWAY FROM ME!" She released her fists, her hands were bloody from digging her nails into her skin. Her mascara was running and her hair frizzed. The ground rumbled from her powers when she threw her hands out.

I did this to her. Twenty minutes ago my life was fine. It was perfect. It was better than perfect. It was the best it had ever been. I thought that there was nothing that could stop us. Brittany wanted me. But I ruined her in a matter of seconds.

I did the smart thing and stepped back. She fell into her own lap and sobbed. I wanted to run to her and hold her and kiss her and tell her how it would be just fine.

Only it was not just fine.

I looked up and saw Simon in the window. He was shaking his head. I gave him an angry look.

I saw Brittany had gotten up and walked over to a deserted alley, where she continued to quietly sob. I hated Simon so much right now.

I got into my car and sped away from there as fast as I possibly could.

I was already regretting my mistake- but if only Brittany would let me explain. No. It was not her fault; I couldn't blame this on her. She had done nothing wrong.

I ruined an innocent woman. I broke Brittany.
