Cassie's POV
"I really hope Brit is okay." I said as I threw a dart at the dartboard. It still had Louis' face on it.
"I tried to talk to her..." He trailed off.
"I know, but she's stubborn, I mean, I probably would do the same thing, except worse; I would get revenge" I smirked as I threw another.
"Yes!! BULLSEYE!" I yelled, doing my happy dance.
Harry rolled his eyes.
"Oh! I just remembered, did you have any plans after school?" He asked.
"Well of course! I was going to be a half-dance-half-civil-engineering major; I got a lot of scholarships, too."
"Oh"
"Is it that surprising that I have a life? I mean I wasn't just waiting for One Direction to whisk me away to go on tour with them" I said, half serious, half teasing.
"So you dance...?"
"Yep!"
"And I never knew this because...?"
Suddenly, I heard my phone ring.
"Para-para-paradise-" My ringtone played.
"Kristin!" I yelled before running across the room to answer my phone.
"Wassup slut?" I said jokingly.
"Nothin much whore" she said in the same manner.
We both laughed.
Kristin was my best dance friend. I'd know her since I was like- not even a year old. We both danced together, were the popular girls of dance, were the most flexible, and the best dancers, and had lots of solos, and duos with each other.
I missed her so much!
"How have you been?" I asked her.
"Well I'm taking a skip year to travel with my sister."
"That's great! I'm also taking a skip year... If you didn't know, I'm kind of touring with One Direction... No big deal..."
"I heard about that" I knew she was smiling. "So that means we'll be going to college together!"
***
I held the phone to my ear.
It rang. No one picked up.
It rang again. No one picked up.
It rang yet again and, yet again, no one picked up.
"Ugh! This is useless! She's never going to pick up!" I yelled, defeated.
"Don't say that. There's always hope." Taylor said comfortingly.
We, Emily, Lily, Taylor, I, were all at Lily and Taylor's flat. I didn't want to be reminded of Brittany.
I have to say, their place was pretty nice, a bit smaller than ours but ours has three people living in it; well it did...
"Let's try from our home phone; she won't know the number," Lily suggested.
"Hmm, that's a good idea", I said as I went to call her using their home phone.
I dialed the number. It rang twice and...
"What do you want?" She said into the phone bitterly.
"Brittany!" I yelled.
"I should have known it was you", she said, slightly less bitter.
"Don't hang up please!" I yelled.
"Well as long as your on the line..." she said.
"Brittany you have to come back."
Before she could say anything I continued.
"Don't do it for Louis." I could practically hear her cringing at the name. "Do it for me, for Em, for Taylor, and for Lily. Do it for us. Show him that you're better than this. Don't run away crying. Keep you're head held high and get you're butt back over here!"
"Well..."
"I don't know..."
"Maybeeeeeee..."
Then she hung up.
What the hell was that?
"That was weird." Emily said slowly.
"Yeah" Taylor agreed.
"But now we have hope that she'll come back."
"Hasn't anyone ever told you? Hope brings eternal misery." I said before walking out.
And I bet there wondering: how would she know? And maybe I don't have a tragic backstory like Brittany. But I can remember the Christmases and Birthdays, when I was just hoping, that my WHOLE family could be together, instead of taking business trips, and being out with friends and still being at the university... that's how I know.
Louis' POV
"HE CHOSE HIS CAREER OVER ME HARRY! I DON'T MEAN ENOUGH TO HIM AND HE DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING TO ME!"
"And he doesn't mean anything to me..."
The scene replayed in my head.
I had been in my bed the past few days. I'd barely ate a thing. I slept all day. My eyes were red and puffy, and I smelled awful from not showering the last few days.
I was a mess. I missed Brittany.
I tried calling her in the beginning... that was a fail.
I regret not going after her. A lot.
I regret choosing my contract over her even more.
But I mostly just feel hurt, that I lost her, that she moved away because of me, that she doesn't care about me anymore...
I want her back more than anything even my career.
And I'm gonna get her back.

"I need tickets for the next flight to California."
"The next flight leaves at 9 o'clock tomorrow", she smiled at me.
She didn't recognize me because I was wearing a fake mustache, a green wig, and a top hat. weird. I know.
I got my ticket and got my phone, keys, and 2,000 dollars. It was all I would have when I left for California.
***
I was sitting on a plane. Anxiously. We had just boarded, and I was going to be here for another 16 hours.
I was so worried that I couldn't sleep. I just sat there. Bored out of my mind. Until finally, I heard:
"Please make sure you have your seat belts on. We will be landing within the next 20 minutes. Thank you!"
I was never so happy to here that cheery voice.
Once we landed, I made a mad dash for the exit and was soon Sitting in the back of a taxi-cab.
I arrived at Frank's Deli and had a strange sense of déjà
vu.
I walked in and heard the little bell over the door ring.
I looked around and what do ya know? Brittany was sitting in the back corner eating some combos.
I walked over. Here goes nothin'.
