Beach Day

I grinned as I slipped on a shiny purple bikini. Today we're going to the coast. We live about a three hour drive away. I threw on a blue sundress and white flip flops.

As I stepped out of my room, I was greeted by Cassie. She yanked me into a hug.

"How do you feel?" She spoke.

"I haven't felt this good in a while." I smiled. We pulled away.

My phone went off I reached over for it and checked the lock screen.

Louis- Waiting outside with the lads, Lily and Luke. Come outside when ur ready. :*

I smiled and texted back.



Brittany- We're all ready... Be out in 5. Love you XOXO

I turned the screen off and walked down the hall to get Em. I reached her door and knocked twice.

"EMILY GET YOUR BUTT OUT HERE!" I yelled through the door. She opened it with a yellow strapless bikini top and denim shorts.

"I'm here I'm here!" She threw a white tank top on. I smiled and gestured for her to follow me.

We went to the kitchen and I grabbed the basket of food and my bag. Cassie joined us at the door.

"Let's go!" I announced as I opened the door. I closed it behind them and locked it.

We all met up in the elevator. I smiled as I popped my phone and keys in my large purse.

I smiled as I listened to Cass and Em argue teasingly about what ice cream flavor they bought the most over the last week.

"It was turtle tracks!"

"Rocky road!"

"Seriously? I have the receipt Cassie!"

"I will put ten bucks on it that it was rocky road!"

"And I'll use that money to buy turtle tracks!"

Emily stuck her hand into her purse as the elevator stopped at the lobby. I stepped out and turned to them.

"Look! Brittany look! Which did we buy most?" Cassie threw the receipt at me.

I looked it over.

"Rocky road." I smiled.

"What?!" Emily took the receipt from me. I shrugged. Emily looked annoyed as she placed it back in her bag and took out her wallet.

"That'll be ten dollars please!" Cassie smiled. (A/N: I know it's in dollars... Sorry)

Emily rolled her eyes and slapped money into her hand. Cass smiled triumphantly and stuffed it in the pocket of her denim capris.

I thanked the doorman and felt a strong pair of arms hug me as soon as I stepped out.

"Louis." I hugged back.

"HEY LADS! BRITT BOUGHT FOOD!" Louis yelled. Maybe a bit too loud, because a sudden swarm of girls came running at the large van.

"Crap." Emily started running towards the van. We all followed. Em got in the back with Niall, Lily, Luke and Liam. Harry, Cass, Ed, and Zayn sat in the middle. Louis drove, and I got shotgun. A security guard drove in a small black minivan drove behind us.

The guard was currently holding back girls as Louis slammed his foot on the gas. The van turned onto the road.

I turned on my phone and read Twitter. I had more mentions and one caught my attention.

I turned toward Lou. "Hey, Louis?"

He kept his eyes on the road, but half turned his head to me.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"You always tell me how epic and amazing your sisters are. When can I meet your family?" I asked.

"Um... Are you coming on tour for a bit? Doncaster is the first location. We can meet up with them there...?" He spoke.

I smiled. "Sure." I turned back to my phone.

Suddenly, familiar voices came through the radio.

Louis reached over and took my hand. Now I could feel my smile growing.

It was then I realized how tired I was...

"BRITTANY OBREGON GET UP!" A southern accent shouted in my ear.

"Ow." I got out of the van, warm air hitting me immediately. I missed this, London was so cold.

I turned and saw a small beach, though it looked like we were in the middle of nowhere. That's really good.

Louis pulled me closer to him by putting an arm around my waist.

We walked over to the beach and Lily put her phone on the portable speakers and turned on the radio. I set the basket in the shade and we all set up umbrellas and beach towels. We took off everything but our bathing suits, and Luke, Lily, Liam, Ed and Zayn ran to the water. Zayn more so slumped. Poor guy...

Louis popped on his sunglasses and I did too. He came and lay down on the beach towel next to me.

"So, you wanna meet my family?" Louis held my hand.

"No. I wanna make out with Barney and throw a taco at Lily's younger sister that doesn't exist. Of course I wanna meet your family!" I spoke.

"Ya know, I really don't wanna know what else is going on in your mind right now..." Louis smirked.

"Sure about that?"

"No. Wait! Yes I'm sure."

I smirked. I considered this quite anti social so I went over to join all the others. Well, some of the others. Ed, Lily, Luke, Liam, and Emily were having a water gun battle and squirting seagulls with the water guns. It's called multitasking. YOLO.

I sat down by Cassie. She was under an umbrella bobbing her head to the radio. I could tell she wanted to get up and start dancing. She was going to be a half-dance-half-civil-engineering-major.

"Sup Cass?" I poked her shoulder.

"You know the boys are going on tour in a few days? We won't see them for nearly a year." She spoke. Her voice was shaky.

"Well... Yea..." I turned my head.

After about 10 minutes of strange tension, I started walking back to Lou. He was still on the beach towel, next to an empty one, which I lay down on.

"We'll hello there." Louis leaned over and pecked me on the lips.

"Um... Lou?"

"Yes love?" He smiled warmly at me.

"Is... Is it true your tour will be another year long...?" I closed my eyes. When I opened them I saw that he had a concerned look on his face.

"Brittany, I didn't want you to find out from anybody but me..."

"Louis, I'm not mad. I just... I don't want you to go."

"I will visit. We have breaks. The longer ones start three months into the tour. You were going to come for four months anyway..."

"So it's fine. But for the other seven months I'm going to miss you."

"How did you know it was eleven months not twelve?"

"You said almost a year. Lucky guess..." I turned away. Louis pulled me in and cupped my face.

"You know I love you, right?" He looked me in the eye.

I responded by closing the gap between our lips.

But something cut me off in the process.

A wet substance was shot onto my arm. Water. I looked up quickly and saw Ed looking guilty.

"Sorry Brittany. I meant to hit Lily-"

I dashed to the water. Before the water could reach my knees, I fell and a tail replaced my legs. I tried to push myself into deeper water, but my tail weighs like a kajillion pounds.

I hesitated, but turned around. When I did, I saw worried expressions on everybody but Ed's face. No, he had a mix of scared, surprised, and confused expressions on his face. Honestly, he looked like a cow dying and giving birth while singing the potato song.

"SURPRISE!" Cassie shouted and gestured towards me. I smiled and turned my body.

I used all my strength and some power from the waves to push me to shore. I was greeted by everyone. (Just in case you haven't figured it out, Luke already knows the secret.) Ed still had that look on his face and Cassie didn't go near the water.

"So..."

"You're a-a-a-a-"

"Mermaid." Lily finished. I smiled.

"But I'm not the ONLY one!" I pointed at Cass. She did a small wave and sat in the water beside me.

Her tail came too. Ed's look grew a lot more relaxed.

"Tell. Me. Everything." He pointed at us.

After explaining, it was four o clock. We didn't have to leave until eight. Since Ed knew, we could all swim together.

It was very fun. Around seven, it became slightly dim. Liam grabbed fire crackers and a lighter. We all had a fun time.

Another eventful day with One Direction and Ed Sheeran.
